BuffMobs Changelog
3.3.4 - Minecraft 26.3 Compatibility Fix
Available for both Fabric and NeoForge.
Fixed
-
Crash on Minecraft 26.3 when a ranged mob switched to melee. Skeletons, Strays, Pillagers, Piglins and any mob listed in
customRangedMobscould crash the game or server the moment they swung their melee weapon at a player. -
Same crash risk in the fallback melee behavior used for ranged mobs that are not standard pathfinding mobs.
-
Passive Mob Aggression on Fabric used the same attack animation call and is now protected as well.
-
NeoForge failed to start on Minecraft 26.3. NeoForge 26.3 renamed its
COMMONconfig type toLOCAL, which stopped the mod from loading. BuffMobs now detects the correct type automatically, so it works on 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3. -
NeoForge crash on Minecraft 26.3 during melee hits. The knockback sync used a field that no longer exists in 26.3. It is now resolved safely at runtime.
Improved
- Melee swing animations are now handled in a version-safe way, so the mod keeps working across Minecraft 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3.
- If a swing animation ever cannot be played, the mob still attacks normally and a warning is logged instead of crashing.
Notes
- No configuration changes. Your existing config files keep working as-is.
- No gameplay changes: melee and kite behavior, weapons, enchantments and scaling are unchanged.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
