Military Tanks & Helicopters

Military Tanks & Helicopters adds a driveable tank and a helicopter with first-person interiors, weapons, and fuel use. Both have 3D camouflaged models and looping engine sounds. Press F5 to switch to third-person view.

Tank controls

Use W and S to drive forward and backward, and A and D to turn the hull. The tank cannot strafe. The turret follows your view, within the barrel's pitch limits.

Left-click to fire a shell. The targeting HUD shows a crosshair and the weapon cooldown, so you can see when the next shot is ready.

Helicopter controls

Use W and S to move forward and backward, A and D to turn, Space to climb, and Shift to descend. The helicopter collides with terrain. Its cockpit has a semi-transparent canopy and animated rotors.

Press H to switch weapons. Hold left-click for automatic gunfire, or use rocket mode to fire individual explosive rockets with a longer cooldown. Both aim where you look.

Shift does not dismount you in mid-air. Press E to get out, preferably after landing.

Fuel

Vehicles start empty. Make a fuel canister with eight iron ingots arranged around an empty center slot. It holds up to 2,000 fuel.

Craft an oil bucket by combining a bucket and coal. In an anvil, combine the oil bucket with the canister to add 500 fuel. Four buckets fill it.

Hold right-click on a vehicle with a filled canister to refuel it. The helicopter uses fuel faster than the tank.

Motorcycle and Survival crafting

Version 1.1.0 adds the BMW R75 motorcycle, an unarmed vehicle that travels nearly three times as fast as the tank. Use WASD to steer and F to dismount. It has a speedometer, fuel bar, animated wheels, and third-person view by default. Optional Pehkui, PlayerAnimator, and Photon support improves rider scaling, riding poses, and exhaust particles.

Version 1.2.0 adds Survival recipes for all three vehicle spawners. The tank uses iron blocks, iron ingots, a dispenser, and redstone. The helicopter uses glass, iron ingots, a fuel canister, a dispenser, and redstone. The motorcycle uses iron ingots, iron bars, a dispenser, and redstone. Find the recipes in the equipment category.
