Hotwire
Restarting your game to change one mod? Not anymore :3
Hotwire allows you to turn mods off and on, add new ones, update them and browse Modrinth ingame for more, all while the game is running! Most mods turn off in about a second and come back on instantly. Open it with H or /hotwire.
Anything that goes wrong with a mod you switched added or updated through Hotwire is our bug so please do NOT report it to anyone but us. I’m BEGGING.
Hotwire is in beta! It works on a lot of mods already, but some will definitely misbehave so if something goes wrong, press Bug Report and send us the zip it makes. (if it doesnt make one for you already)
Features
- Turn Mods Off & On: Pick up to five mods at once and switch them live! Whatever mods they depend on OR depends on them come along automatically.
- Built-in Mod Store: Browse and search Modrinth with our epic Modrinth Store! Add mods, shaders, resource packs and data packs live. All libraries come along automatically :3.
- Add Mods Live: Pick a jar or drop it onto the screen and it starts up! If you already have that mod in another instance (Modrinth App, Prism, CurseForge, ATLauncher) and you download it through our Modrinth store it'll just be copied instead of downloading it again.
- Update Mods Live: The Updates panel shows every mod with a newer version fetched from Modrinth. Hotwire swaps it in LIVE! And if it cant be done live then it waits for your next restart under Pending tasks.
- You Stay in Control: Anything that has to wait shows up under Pending tasks, and you can undo all of it! Switches that need your world reopened always ask first as well.
- Safe by Default: If a mod can't be switched cleanly then Hotwire will tell you why and change nothing.
- One-Click Reports: A crash or a failed switch writes one zip with everything needed to fix it. (And opens the folder for you too isn't that neat :3)

FAQ
Why is it called Modrinth Store when you dont buy anything? Because it sounds way cooler :3
How in the world does it do that?? It uses what the JVM already lets you do which is replacing classes while they run, we just do it to a whole mod at once. The readme on Github explains more indepth :3
Has this even been tested. Yes! I've personally tested 230 mods so far which you can find more about on our Github. The community has also been testing this mod heavily with reward programs for bug hunting.
Great, another mod to bury mod devs in work chasing bugs your mod causes! Besides the giant disclaimer, when a mod crashes Hotwire catches it and if it touched that mod then the popup tells the player to send the report to us.
It says here AI assisted in the development, shame on you!! Valid. But please be realistic, this mod would not exist without it's help. There are thousands of cases this code handles and fixing 1 breaks a hundred others, all to save a 10 second restart. This idea was always technically possible but nobody did it because it’s insane. (until now (sort of, please find bugs :3))
What happens if I try to live add a mod that crashes the game or conflicts with another mod? Adding a mod does a dry run first so most crashes and conflicts show up before you confirm, it’s not perfect so if a mod crashes later on then Hotwire will disable it. If it doesnt then pwease come to us!
Is the store safe? It only downloads from Modrinth, the same files you'd get from the website.
Will it break my world? Switches that touch your world save it and open it again first, the same as Save and Quit. You're always asked before that happens too so dont worry.
A mod didn't turn off fully? Hotwire can tell when a mod that’s off still runs and it’ll also name the mod, pwease send that report to us so we can fix it...
