🌙 Restless Nights
Sleeping is no longer safe.
Restless Nights completely transforms Minecraft’s vanilla sleep system into an immersive and unpredictable experience filled with dream effects, atmospheric animations, peaceful blessings… and terrifying nightmares.
Every night becomes a risk.
Will you wake up refreshed?
Or surrounded by monsters?
✨ Immersive Sleep System
Sleeping no longer instantly skips the night.
As you drift asleep:
- Your vision slowly fades into darkness
- Floating “Zzz” particles rise above your bed
- Dream-like particles surround you throughout the night
- Soft ambient sounds echo around you as you fall asleep
The entire system is designed to make sleeping feel alive, atmospheric, and cinematic while remaining fully vanilla-friendly.
☀️ Peaceful Dreams
Not every night is dangerous.
Sometimes, you’ll experience a peaceful sleep that rewards you when morning arrives.
Peaceful wake-ups include:
- Gentle wake-up visual effects
- Regeneration boost
- Soft particles and ambient sounds
- A calm “eyes opening” effect using night vision flashes
These moments make surviving the night feel rewarding and immersive.
😱 Nightmare System
Every time you sleep, there is a chance for your dream to become a nightmare.
During a nightmare:
- Darkness pulses around you
- Disturbing ambient sounds fill the night
- Smoke, ash, soul flames, and cursed particles surround your bed
- Your wake-up becomes violent and disorienting
And when you finally wake up…
You are not alone.
👁️ Nightmare Types
Each nightmare summons different threats around the player.
👻 Phantom Nightmare
- 3 “Shadows of the Night” circle above you
- Creates constant pressure and chaos
🕷️ Spider Nightmare
- Surrounded by spiders and cave spiders
- Extremely dangerous indoors
💥 Creeper Nightmare
- Charged creepers can spawn directly around your house
- One bad night can destroy everything
🧟 Undead Nightmare
- Husks and zombies emerge around the player
- Great for survival chaos and multiplayer servers
All nightmare mobs are persistent and will not naturally despawn.
If you survive the night… you must survive the aftermath too.
⚙️ Fully Configurable
You can easily customize the nightmare chance directly inside the datapack.
Default:
mcfunction execute if score @s sr_roll matches 1..25
Examples:
- 1..50 → 50% nightmare chance
- 1..10 → 10% nightmare chance
- Remove the line entirely → nightmares disabled
Perfect for:
- Hardcore survival
- Vanilla+ servers
- Horror experiences
- SMP events
- Multiplayer chaos
🔌 Multiplayer & GeyserMC Compatible
Restless Nights works perfectly on multiplayer servers and is fully compatible with GeyserMC.
Java and Bedrock players can experience:
- Nightmare events
- Status effects
- Mob spawns
- Ambient systems
- Sleep mechanics
The only Bedrock limitation: floating “Zzz” text entities are not rendered on Bedrock clients.
Everything else works server-side without issues.
