Chunkban

ChunkBan is a lightweight Paper plugin that lets you create special ChunkBan Shulker Boxes capable of permanently marking chunks as banned. Simply obtain a ChunkBan Shulker Box, throw it into the world, and the chunk where it lands will become a restricted area.

The ChunkBan Shulker Box contains specially generated Written Books with custom data attached to the item, allowing the plugin to reliably identify it without accidentally triggering on normal Shulker Boxes.

Once a ChunkBan Shulker Box activates inside a chunk, that chunk is registered as banned. Players attempting to enter the banned chunk will automatically be kicked from the server with a ChunkBan message. Banned chunks are saved by the plugin, meaning they remain banned even after the server restarts.

Usage

Give yourself a ChunkBan Shulker Box with:

/chunkban

After receiving the Shulker Box, throw or drop it into the chunk you want to ban.

The plugin detects the special Shulker Box and activates the ChunkBan automatically.

Example

/chunkban

→ Receive ChunkBan Shulker Box

→ Throw it into a chunk

→ Chunk becomes banned

→ Player attempts to enter

→ Player is kicked

Installation Guide

1. You need a PaperMC 1.21.x server.
2. Download the ChunkBan .jar file.
3. Stop your Minecraft server before installing the plugin.
4. Take the downloaded .jar file and put it into your server's plugins folder.
5. Start the server again.
6. Check the server console for the ChunkBan startup message.
7. Run /chunkban in-game to receive your first ChunkBan Shulker Box.

That's it! No additional dependencies or complicated configuration is required.

Important

ChunkBan is designed as a server-side gameplay mechanic. It does not modify Minecraft's network protocol or intentionally send malformed packets. The books inside the Shulker Box are part of the item's design and are used to make the ChunkBan item visually and technically distinctive.
