Smart Placement makes directional block placement feel much less awkward in Minecraft. When you hold sneak while placing a directional block, the mod automatically inverts its facing, so observers can point toward you, pistons can face backward, and dispensers, droppers, crafters, and other facing-based blocks go where you actually want them.
The mod includes a live placement preview, configurable action-bar feedback, per-block toggles, and an optional keybind-based inversion mode if you do not want to rely on sneaking alone. It also comes with extra quality-of-life features such as scroll-based facing rotation, smart stair placement, and optional placement memory.
Smart Placement is designed to work well in singleplayer, on modded servers, and even on vanilla servers with a fallback placement method. If you build often with redstone, technical contraptions, or directional utility blocks, it removes a lot of the small placement annoyances that slow you down.
