Trial Catacombs is a Minecraft dungeon mod focused on exploration + combat. You will venture into a randomly generated trial tomb, face an undead legion with coordinated AI, challenge a Skeleton King who commands them all, and unlock hidden trial chambers to obtain unique weapons.
✨ Core Features
- 🕯️ A Fixed-Structure, Random Dungeon
The main path is fixed, but room types are randomized — combat rooms, supply rooms, trap rooms… Each expedition feels fresh. Descend layer by layer, and at the deepest point lies the secret of sovereignty.
- The dungeon generates in the Overworld. Its entrance is above ground, while all other rooms are underground. You can locate it with the command:

One-way doors, room-controlled doors, shortcut doors… You must first reach the far side to unlock a direct path to the Boss room. Plan your route wisely to save time. -
🎮 Combat Design
Monsters have clear attack wind-ups, allowing you to dodge or interrupt. Boss attacks also have wind-ups, and his area attacks leave safe zones — face‑tanking won't work. Use mobility or shields to prevail. -

Health, defense, skill cooldowns, lifesteal ratio… almost every value can be tweaked freely.

🧭 Dungeon Structure & Exploration Rules

Generation: The dungeon has a fixed main path, but room types are random (combat, supply, trap, etc.). The endpoint is always the Boss room. A branching path leads to the Trial Rooms.

Room System:
- While the Boss is alive, the Boss room door is automatically closed and locked. The door opens after the Boss is defeated or despawns.
- When a trial is activated, the trial room door closes and locks. It opens again after the trial is completed or times out.
- At the lowest level of the staircase you will find a Crown Pedestal. When active, it grants enhanced effects to skeletons that spawn in the staircase area. (Right‑click to disable; skeletons will no longer receive the buff.)

Protection & Respawn:
- By default, placing or breaking blocks is forbidden in all rooms, except for gravel/sand.
- The room immediately before the Boss room and the Trial rooms is a Node Room, where you can set your respawn point.
- Within the Boss room and Trial rooms, players keep their items upon death.
- After the Skeleton King is defeated, block protection is removed from all rooms except the Boss room and Trial rooms.
💀 Mob System
General Mechanics
- Stagger System: Small mobs have their current action (e.g., attack charge, spell casting) interrupted when hit. The Boss is immune to stagger.
- Visual Telegraphed Attacks: All attacks have clear wind‑up animations, allowing you to anticipate and avoid.
- Smite Resistance: These skeletons are undead, but they have some resistance against the Smite enchantment (configurable). Nevertheless, Smite remains significantly stronger than Sharpness.
- Loot: Every skeleton has a chance to drop its corresponding trophy. Trophies can be placed as decoration or used to activate the three trials in the Trial Rooms.
- Fully Configurable: All values (health, defense, skill parameters, etc.) can be changed via the config file.
Three Skeleton Guards (Base 30❤️, different defense)

- All skeletons follow the Skeleton King and maintain formation.
Enhanced Effects (Glowing Crown above head)
- All skeletons' attacks gain lifesteal (based on damage dealt).
- Skeleton Warlock: +2 ticks to healing/damage; healing to the Skeleton King is multiplied by 1.5.
- Skeleton Warrior: Innate 40% damage reduction; absorbs 50% of damage taken by the Skeleton King (shared equally if multiple warriors are present).
- Skeleton Archer: Arrows set targets on fire, and the archer actively keeps its distance.
👑 Skeleton King (Boss)
- Base Stats: 200❤️, 18 defense, 9 armor toughness.
- Summon & Aggro: Spawned by the Summon Block in the Boss room. If no target is within range for 30 seconds, the Boss despawns and the block resets.
- Skills:
- Melee Attack: Deals 20 damage in a 225° frontal cone.
- Dash Slash: When the target is between 6 and 12 blocks away, the King dashes toward it, dealing 25 damage over a 12‑block distance.
- Summon: Summons one random skeleton, preferring the type currently lacking.
- Phase Change:
- Above 50% HP: Summons 1 skeleton at a time, up to 3 skeletons on the field.
- Below 50% HP (Enraged): Skill cooldown reduced by 25%, attack speed increased; summons 2 skeletons at a time, up to 5 skeletons on the field.
- Summon Animation: Summoned skeletons slowly emerge from the ground, taking 80% reduced damage and being immune to knockback during the animation.
- Upon Defeat: Drops loot and the Crown Key. The Crown Key opens the Crown Vault behind the Boss room (contains rich rewards). The Skeleton King Remains block is created, which can be right‑clicked with a Crimson Crystal to refight the Boss.
- Boss Loot:
- Crimson Bond: A greatsword with high damage, longer reach, but very slow attack speed. Heals for 25% of damage dealt, but first deals self‑damage equal to 10% of your max health.
- Bone Crown: Increases attack speed when at low health.
- Bone Pauldron: Increases defense and armor toughness when equipped in the offhand.
- Bone Helmet: A helmet with high defense.
- Tomb Hat: Increases ranged damage.
- Doom Hood: When worn, the effect of the Doom Staff becomes permanent (always active).
🔥 Trial Rooms (Challenge Branch)
- Location: A branching path in the dungeon, containing three altars: Warrior Altar, Archer Altar, and Warlock Altar.
- Activation: Each altar requires the corresponding rare trophy (which can also be placed as decoration).
- Trial Flow:
- Right‑click the altar → the room door locks.
- There are 3 waves. Each wave follows: Preparation phase (9‑second progress bar fills to 0) → Combat phase (timer starts) → Spawn (mobs have glowing effect) → After all mobs are defeated, the next wave's preparation begins.
- If any wave times out or the player leaves prematurely → trial fails, monsters are cleared, and the door unlocks.
- After all 3 waves are completed → the altar ejects its exclusive weapon, the altar enters a 2‑hour cooldown, and the door automatically unlocks.
- Reward Weapons:
- Warrior Trial → Bone Hatchet (fast attack speed)
- Archer Trial → Tomb Bow (high durability; does not slow Tomb Arrows)
- Warlock Trial → Doom Staff (while held, periodically grants Regeneration I to nearby players; with Doom Hood equipped, the effect becomes permanent)
- Shortcut: After completing any trial, a shortcut connecting the Boss room and the dungeon entrance is opened (but the shortcut door cannot be opened from the trial side while the Boss is alive).
- Crash / Exit Handling: If the game crashes or closes during a trial, the trial resets. The altar returns to its inactive state, all mobs in the room are cleared, and the door unlocks.
✨ Other Items
- Tomb Arrow: Deals higher damage than vanilla arrows, but if fired from a regular bow or crossbow, its flight speed is reduced by 20%.
- Tomb Quiver: When equipped, increases ranged damage. Arrows are taken from the quiver first, and the quiver loses durability. If the bow has Infinity, it does not consume arrows from the quiver but still consumes extra quiver durability. Right‑click while holding the quiver to open its inventory (can store up to three stacks of arrows).
- Crimson Crystal: Can be used to repair mod items, craft the Tomb Quiver, open "Tomb Vaults", or refight the Skeleton King.
🚪 Door System (Multi‑block Structure)
- Construction: Placing a core block automatically generates a 3‑wide, 4‑high door structure. Breaking any part removes the whole structure, and only the core block drops. It can be used as decoration.
- Four Door Variants:
- Normal Door: No restrictions.
- One‑way Door: Can only be opened from the front. After being opened once, it becomes a Normal Door.
- Room‑Controlled Door: Normally openable, but automatically closes and locks while the Boss is alive or a trial is active.
- One‑way Room‑Controlled Door: After being opened once, it becomes a Room‑Controlled Door. Used to create shortcuts from the Boss room and Trial rooms directly to the dungeon entrance.
🛠️ Configuration & Compatibility
- All mob attributes, skill parameters, trial wave timings, altar cooldowns, etc., can be found in "config/remains_cave".
- Currently supports NeoForge 1.21.1.
- Does not conflict with other dungeon‑generating mods.

🗑️ Uninstalling

🧭 地牢结构与探索规则

生成:地牢主路径固定,房间类型随机(战斗、补给、陷阱等),终点固定为Boss房。另有分支路线通往试炼房。

房间系统:
- Boss存活时会自动关闭并锁定Boss房的门,boss被击败或消失后门会自动打开。
- 开启试炼后会自动关闭并锁定试炼房的门,通过试炼或试炼超时后门会自动打开。
- 楼梯间最底层设有王冠底座,王冠底座会使楼梯间生成的怪物获得增强效果(可右键关闭,关闭后骷髅不再获得增强效果)。

保护与重生:
- 所有房间默认禁止放置/破坏除砂砾/沙子以外的方块。
- Boss房和试炼房的前一个房间为节点房,可设置重生点。
- Boss房与试炼房内,玩家死亡不掉落物品。
- 击败骷髅王后,除Boss房和试炼房外,其余房间解除方块保护。
💀 怪物系统
通用机制
- 硬直系统:小怪受击会打断当前动作(如攻击蓄力、施法),Boss全程霸体。
- 动作匹配:所有攻击均有视觉前摇,可预判躲避。
- 亡灵杀手抗性:这些骷髅属于亡灵生物,但对“亡灵杀手”附魔有一定的抗性(可配置)。即便如此,“亡灵杀手”仍然比“锋利”有明显优势。
- 战利品:所有骷髅均有概率掉落对应的战利品,战利品可放置下来作为装饰,也可用于开启试炼房间的三种试炼。
- 配置开放:所有数值(血量、防御、技能参数等)均可通过配置文件修改。
三种骷髅护卫(基础30❤️,防御不同)

- 所有骷髅会跟随骷髅王并保持阵型。
强化效果(头顶发光王冠)
- 所有骷髅攻击附带吸血(基于造成伤害值)。
- 骷髅术士:治疗/攻击段数+2,对骷髅王的治疗量×1.5。
- 骷髅战士:自带40%减伤;分摊骷髅王所受伤害的50%(当场上存在多个骷髅战士会平均分担伤害)。
- 骷髅弓手:箭矢将附带火矢效果,且会主动远离敌人。
👑 骷髅王Boss
- 基础属性:200❤️ , 18防御,9护甲韧性。
- 召唤与仇恨:由Boss房的召唤方块生成。若30秒内无目标,Boss消失并重置方块。
- 技能:
- 近战攻击:对前方225°扇形区域造成20点伤害。
- 冲刺斩:当目标距离骷髅王大于6格小于12格时,将会朝目标释放冲刺斩,冲刺斩伤害25,冲刺距离12.
- 召唤:随机召唤一只骷髅,优先补充缺少的类型。
- 阶段变化:
- 半血以上:一次召唤1只骷髅,场上最多3只。
- 半血以下(狂暴):技能冷却-25%,攻速提升;召唤技能变为一次召唤2只,场上最多5只。
- 召唤动画:被召唤的骷髅缓慢从地面钻出,期间80%免伤且免疫击退。
- 击败后:必定掉落战利品和王冠之钥,王冠之钥可开启Boss房后方的王冠宝库(内含丰厚战利品),在原地生成骷髅王遗骸,使用血色晶石右键可再次挑战。
- 战利品:
- 血契:一把高伤害攻击距离更长但攻速很慢的大剑,攻击将回复造成伤害值的25%,但在此之前会先受到10%最大生命值的伤害。
- 王冠:装备后在生命值较低时增加攻击速度。
- 肩甲:装备在副手时增加防御力与护甲韧性。
- 骨噬头盔:一顶高防御力的头盔。
- 墟墓宽帽:可以增加远程伤害的帽子。
- 咒殁兜帽:穿戴时,咒殁法杖给予的效果变为全程覆盖。
🔥 试炼房(挑战分支)
- 位置:地牢分支路线,三个祭坛分别为战士祭坛、弓手祭坛、术士祭坛。
- 开启条件:每个祭坛需要对应怪物的稀有掉落物(可放置为装饰品)。
- 挑战流程:
- 右键祭坛 → 房门锁定。
- 共3波,每波流程:准备期(9秒进度条归零)→ 战斗期(计时条倒计时)→ 刷怪(带发光效果)→ 清完怪物后进入下一波准备期。
- 任意一波超时或玩家中途退出 → 挑战失败,房门打开,怪物清除。
- 三波全通 → 祭坛弹出专属武器,祭坛进入2小时冷却,房门自动打开。
- 奖励武器:
- 战士试炼 → 骨噬短柄斧(攻速较快)
- 弓手试炼 → 墟墓短弓(高耐久度,发射墟墓箭矢不降低飞行速度)
- 术士试炼 → 咒殁法杖(手持法杖可以周期性给予周围玩家生命恢复1,穿戴咒殁兜帽时效果变为全程覆盖)
- 捷径:完成任一试炼后,会开启连接Boss房与地牢入口的快捷通道(但Boss存活时无法从试炼房侧打开通往Boss房的门)。
- 异常处理:若试炼过程中因为某些原因导致游戏关闭或崩溃,试炼将会重置,试炼祭坛回到未开启状态,清除房间内怪物并打开房门。
✨ 其他物品
- 墟墓箭矢:比原版箭矢伤害更高,但使用普通的弓弩发射会降低20%箭矢飞行速度。
- 墟墓箭袋:装备后增加远程伤害,使用箭袋内箭矢时箭袋损失耐久,若弓有无限附魔则不会消耗箭袋内的箭矢,但会额外消耗箭袋耐久。放在主手时右键打开,可以存放三组箭矢。
- 绯红晶石:可以用于修复mod物品或制作墟墓箭袋,也可以用来打开“墓穴宝库”或再次挑战骷髅王。
🚪 门系统(多方块结构)
- 构建:放置核心块自动生成宽3高4的门结构;破坏任意部分则整体拆除,仅核心块掉落,可以作为装饰物。
- 四种门变体:
- 普通门:无限制。
- 单向门:仅能从正面打开,开启一次后变为普通门。
- 房间控制门:平时可开,但在Boss存活或试炼进行时自动关闭并锁定。
- 单向房间控制门:开启一次后变为房间控制门,用于设计boss房和试炼房直达墓穴入口的捷径。
🛠️ 配置与兼容性
- 所有怪物属性、技能参数、试炼波次时间、祭坛冷却等均可在 “config/remains_cave” 下找到。
- 当前支持neoforge1.21.1。
- 不与其他地牢生成模组冲突。
