Changes
Added
- Chinese (Simplified) language,
zh_CN. Thanks to CTfish0101. - Every message and menu text accepts MiniMessage, such as
<red>,<#5DB5F1>and<gradient:#5DB5F1:#FFFFFF>, alone or mixed with&codes. A new<smallcaps>tag writes small capitals. See the new Language Files page. - Placeholder values, such as player and item names, can no longer add colours to a message.
- Chat messages can use
<click>and<hover>. Menus, items, titles and holograms cannot, and a player or item name can never add a click to any text. language_auto_detectshows messages and menus in each player's own game language, when that language is installed.- A GUI layout can have
texts_<language>.ymlnext to itstexts.ymlfor players in that language. - A text missing from a language file now shows in English instead of a missing-key notice.
- Each GUI layout has a new
filter_gui.ymlto change the material of the middle column in the item filter menu.
Fixed
- Clicking an item in your own inventory while the item filter menu is open no longer adds it to the spawner's filter.
- Going back to storage from the item filter menu no longer moves your mouse cursor to the middle of the screen.
- Changing
spawner_properties.default.delaynow applies to spawners already placed, after/ss reloador a restart. Before, they kept the old delay until broken and placed again. - Servers on an older Minecraft version no longer warn on every start about shipped
spawner_mobs.ymlentries for mobs that version does not have yet, such assulfur_cube. Names added by hand are still checked.
Changed
- SmartSpawner now runs on Java 21 again, so Minecraft 1.21.11 servers no longer need Java 25. The ExcellentEconomy integration still needs Java 25, as ExcellentEconomy itself does.
- The shipped language files use MiniMessage instead of
&codes. Edited texts keep their&codes and keep working. - Only the active language and GUI layout are written to the plugin folder. Others are added the first time they are selected with
/ss languageor/ss gui_layout. - Custom language folders now get key renames on update, like the built-in ones.
- Each language now has four files instead of eight, with keys grouped by menu and topic, and short comments. See the details below.
- The DonutSMP look is now chosen with
gui_layoutalone. Theen_US_DonutSMPanden_US_DonutSMP_v2languages were removed; their GUI text now comes with theDonutSMPandDonutSMP_v2layouts, in a newtexts.yml. - A delay set with
/ss set delaynow stays on that spawner through reloads and restarts, instead of following the config.
Notes
- Servers using
language: en_US_DonutSMPoren_US_DonutSMP_v2are switched toen_USwith the matching layout on the first start, and edited DonutSMP texts and messages are kept. The old language folders are saved inlanguage.backup-<date>/. No action is required. - Spawners given their own delay with
/ss set delaybefore this version go back to the config delay once. Set it again where needed. - Language folders, custom ones included, are converted to the new files on the first start. Edited texts are kept, and the old files are saved in
language.backup-<date>/. No action is required.

no_expisexp.noneandbreak_tool_requiredisbreak.wrong_tool. - GUI keys are grouped by menu, for example
sell_buttonisstorage.sellandgui_title_main.single_spawnerismain.title. Layouttexts.ymlfiles are renamed the same way. - New
storage.title_single, the storage title for a single spawner. - New

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
