đŠī¸ Skyfront
Modern drone warfare for Minecraft. Recon quadcopters dropping grenades, FPV kamikaze drones with RPG rounds, interceptors hunting incoming strike drones, Shahed-136 launches with route planning, radar and air-raid sirens â all built as an add-on for Superb Warfare, and built from the ground up to run on multiplayer servers.
đ Made for servers
Skyfront was written with multiplayer as the first requirement, not an afterthought. The network side is the part of the mod we are proudest of:
- Zero input lag for the pilot. The pilot's client flies its own copy of the drone on the same inputs the server gets, so the picture reacts instantly. The server stays fully authoritative and quietly corrects the client whenever the two disagree â no rubber-banding, no cheating your way through walls.
- Numbered inputs and deterministic flight. Every control packet is sequenced, and the flight model (including wind gusts) runs the same on both sides, so client and server stay in step even on a laggy connection.
- Long-range link. Drones can be flown up to 1000 blocks from the pilot's body. The terrain around the drone is loaded and streamed to the pilot as it flies, then handed back smoothly when the flight ends â the world never ends in a cliff in front of the camera. The chunk radius per drone is configurable to fit your server.
- Effects are drawn by the clients, not streamed. A Shahed's explosion particles and the burning debris of a downed drone are sent as a single small packet and simulated on each client. The server never ticks hundreds of fragments or floods players with particle packets.
- One set of rules for everyone. Flight figures (speeds, rates, thrust, acro mode) are synced from the server's config to every player, so every client flies and draws drones exactly the same way.
/skyfront config reloadapplies config changes live and pushes them out to everyone on the server. - Version check at the door. Client and server builds are matched when a player joins, so mismatched versions are turned away instead of misreading each other's packets.
đ Drones
Mavic 3 Pro â recon quadcopter
- Camera-app style interface with battery, compass and telemetry
- Smooth gimbal and smooth zoom up to 8Ã
- Carries and drops ordnance: RGO grenade, M18 smoke grenade, C4 charge (Superb Warfare items)
- Control range 500 blocks
Mavic 3T â thermal quadcopter
- Everything the Mavic 3 Pro has, plus a thermal camera: bodies, engines, explosions and fresh smoke glow hot
- Works with Iris shader packs
- Control range 1000 blocks
P1-SUN â interceptor
- A missile-shaped interceptor with its own warhead, built to bring down Shaheds and Molniyas
- Acro flight model based on Betaflight rates: rate-controlled sticks, real thrust, ground effect â hard to fly, very rewarding
- Betaflight-style OSD with a live battery model (voltage sag, mAh, amps, flight timer, link quality)
- Contact-fused warhead, configurable blast power and damage to Superb Warfare vehicles
- Also available with a thermal camera
FPV drone â kamikaze
- Carries an RPG round (PG-7VM or Yasin TBG) or a mortar shell as its warhead
- Betaflight OSD with GPS: altitude, speed, distance home, home arrow, coordinates, satellites
- Analog video: the picture breaks up with interference the farther you fly, and drops to static when the link is lost
- First-person view shows the props and the warhead in frame, like real FPV footage
- Set down on two bricks so the slung round clears the ground; the bricks disappear after take-off
- Without a round it does no damage at all
Molniya â fixed-wing strike drone
- Launched from the launch rail, flown like a plane with an INAV-style OSD
- Rocked by wind gusts, nose-fused warhead, 30 hit points
- When shot down it spirals in and goes off on impact
Flying them
- Fly every drone through Superb Warfare's drone monitor
- RC transmitter and gamepad support â plug in a radio (for example a Radiomaster in USB joystick mode), calibrate it in the built-in setup screen, map your switches and fly
- Arming switch (Tab), thermal toggle (T), self-destruct (bindable)
- Downed drones fall realistically â planes spiral, quads tumble â and come apart into burnt pieces that fly up to 100 blocks from a high blast
đ¯ Shahed-136
- Placed on the launch rail, launched from the UAV control terminal
- Route planning on a terrain map: set waypoints, a target and the dive mode
- Two dive modes: low and high approach
- Massive explosion with fire, smoke, debris and optional block damage
- Comes apart into burnt debris when it blows up
𧹠Blocks & items
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| đĨī¸ UAV Control Terminal | Plans routes and launches the Shahed |
| đ Launch Rail | Launch platform for the Shahed and the Molniya |
| đĄ Radar | Detects drones, shows them in a live GUI, outputs a redstone signal by distance |
| đ¨ Air Raid Siren | Redstone-activated siren, audible from far away (range configurable) |
| đ Drones | Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 3T, P1-SUN, Thermal P1-SUN, FPV drone, Molniya, Shahed-136 |
Everything is in the mod's own creative tab, together with Superb Warfare's drone monitor.
đ Sound
- 3D positional sound for every drone, rising in pitch as it is driven harder
- Distinct motor sounds for the FPV, the P1-SUN and the Molniya
- 5 explosion sounds, delayed by distance like the real speed of sound
- Air-raid siren with distance-based volume
