Why the Versioning Change and Other Updates?
I originally switched to version 26.1 to align with the current release year. However, I realized this creates unnecessary confusion since year-based tags easily get mixed up with actual Minecraft version numbers.
With plans to support older Minecraft releases, a title like "GUI Overhaul 26.1 (1.16–1.20.1) Default" becomes messy and misleading. Additionally, keeping both Default and Dark Mode within the same project caused issues: many third-party launchers automatically download the latest file (whether Default or Dark) and ignore the other option entirely.
To solve this, the upcoming release reverts to a standard 3.1 versioning scheme and officially splits the project into two separate resource packs. Going forward, this project page will only host the Default mode, while Dark Mode will be moved to its own distinct project page.
GUI Overhaul is a resource pack designed to overhaul Java Edition's interface to match OreUI, the modern UI framework currently used in Minecraft Bedrock.
This pack incorporates both current and upcoming Ore UI textures. Since Ore UI itself is still actively under development by Mojang, expect frequent updates and layout adjustments with future releases of this pack to stay aligned with the latest designs.
