Gateway of Doom X Xaero's Minimap
See your active Gateways directly on Xaero's Minimap.
This is a small add-on for Gateway of Doom that adds active Gateways to Xaero's Minimap.
I made this mainly so you can keep track of nearby Gateway encounters without having to open the world map all the time.
Every active Gateway gets its own pixel-art marker on the minimap. The marker uses the color configured for that Gateway and only appears in the correct dimension.
Markers are updated while Gateways are running. When a Gateway opens, changes, closes, fails or gets removed, the minimap updates automatically.
Features
- Shows active Gateway of Doom portals on Xaero's Minimap
- Pixel-art Gateway markers
- Uses the configured portal color for each Gateway
- Gateways only appear in the correct dimension
- Live Gateway updates
- Markers are removed when a Gateway ends
- Gateway wave mobs remain visible as yellow radar dots while holding
Tab - Uses temporary overlays instead of permanent waypoints
- Multiplayer support
- Designed to also work on larger servers
Synchronization
The add-on does not constantly resend every Gateway to every player.
When a player joins the server, they receive the current list of active Gateways once.
After that, only actual changes are synchronized, such as:
- Newly opened Gateways
- Changed Gateways
- Closed Gateways
- Failed Gateways
- Removed Gateways
If nothing changes, no repeated Gateway updates are sent.
Synchronization also stops when no players are online.
I wanted to keep this fairly lightweight so the add-on does not create unnecessary network traffic, especially on multiplayer servers with several active encounters.
Requirements
This add-on requires:
- Gateway of Doom
- Xaero's Minimap
Make sure the versions you use match your Minecraft version and mod loader.

If you find a bug or notice that a Gateway is not updating correctly on the minimap, feel free to leave a comment or open an issue.
Suggestions are also welcome. I do read feedback and use it when deciding what to improve or add next.
