Modern Antics

This modpack aims to improve the vanilla Minecraft experience by making it more elaborate, deep, and furthering progression without losing the identity of the original game. There are two broad categories of mods, those that add new vanilla-like content and those that provide state-of-the-art technological advancements. The former includes additions to villages such as Epic Villages, Improved Village Placement, Dynamic Villages, Random Village Names, and Biome Houses Fresh Beginnings, all of which make exploring villages more interesting by providing more variety and better features that one would expect to find in official Minecraft villages. Other quality-of-life and exploration vanilla-themed mods include Farmers Delight, Chefs Delight, Fruits Delight, Veggies Delight, Some Assembly Required, and Create Food, which all add to the game by making food preparation and consumption a more elaborate part of the game rather than a means of simply regaining health. Other graphical improvements and QoL additions such as Continuity, Iris, Sodium, Entity Texture Features, SkinLayers3D, NotEnoughAnimations and Borderless all add up to a greater overall graphical experience while not changing the fundamental look and feel of the game, while mods such as Supplementaries, Design‑n‑Decor, Refurbished Furniture, and Interiors all add decorations in a way that does not feel like clutter but rather a properly decorated home.

The other category of mods includes various additions that greatly expand upon the progression of the player later in the game. Large industrial tech tree additions such as Create , Mekanism , and Applied Energistics 2 all have dozens of addons that greatly expand the impact of all three mods while adding variety to the gameplay. Create Ironworks , Big Cannons , Horsepower , Liquid Fuel , and Central Kitchen all add interesting new mechanics to the already interesting machinery them of Create , while Mekanism Unleashed , Evolved Mekanism , Generators , Lasers , and More Robits greatly advance the state-of-the-art theme of Mekanism to provide powerful and late-game options for players looking to challenge themselves. Applied Mekanistics , Applied Generators , Applied Extended Crafting , Applied Experienced , AppliedSorting , and many more additions to AE2 provide powerful and interesting ways to further automate and advance the progression of the player and tie all aspects of the game together. On the battlefield, TACZ , Elite x Quality Guns , and various other additions provide a different but equally enjoyable combat option that is much more powerful than the vanilla combat but is not forced down the player’s throat. Finally, other additions such as FerriteCore , Dynamic FPS , and Lithostitched provide performance improvements that allow the pack to run smoothly even with all of the additions.
