🟡 Stuck_ a backrooms mod Get lost in the noclipped reality.
⚠️ Important — Read Me First This is my first Minecraft mod. I'm learning as I build, so expect bugs, weird behavior, and rough edges — especially during this alpha phase.
If you find an issue, please be patient and report it so I can fix it. Thanks for trying it out and supporting a beginner modder! 🙏
🟡 How to Play — IMPORTANT When you create a new world with this mod installed, you will spawn DIRECTLY in the Backrooms — not in the Overworld.
This is intentional! The mod is designed around the feeling of waking up already lost in the noclipped reality.
If you want to leave the Backrooms, two ways are now possible: 🚪 Find the legendary Exit Room — an extremely rare structure (1 in 5000 chunks) containing the iconic red Exit Door. You'll need an Exit Key (found in crates) to unlock it. 🛠️ Use the /backrooms command — debug shortcut that teleports you between dimensions.
If you die inside the Backrooms, you'll respawn inside the Backrooms (not the Overworld). The dimension remembers you.
🎮 Alpha State — What to Expect This mod is in early alpha. Some important things to know before playing:
🎒 Most blocks and items still do NOT spawn naturally — they are available through the Creative inventory (Backrooms tab). Some items have started appearing in world loot (see below). 🚫 You cannot gather raw resources in the Backrooms. No ores, no trees, no animals. The dimension is a resource dead-end — by design. 🔋 Hunger is replaced by an Energy system. Manage your stamina by drinking Almond Water and being careful with sprint/jump/attack. 💡 Recommended: Play in Creative mode during alpha for the best experience. Survival is now viable for short runs but still harsh. 🌐 If you want survival resources, use /backrooms to teleport to the Overworld and gather materials there.
🟡 About Stuck_ a backrooms mod is a Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 mod that adds a procedurally generated Backrooms dimension inspired by the iconic Kane Pixels YouTube series. Explore endless yellow hallways, manage your energy, uncover classified Async Research lore, find the exit door, and try to survive the liminal nightmare.

📜 Lore — The Async Research Institute The mod is built around an original fictional universe inspired by Kane Pixels:
- Lawrence Altman founds Async Research Institute in San José, California. Originally building MRI machines, the company secretly develops Project KV31 — a method to access parallel dimensions for storage and overpopulation solutions.
October 17, 1989. During Test #006, Async successfully opens a Threshold to The Complex (the Backrooms). The breach causes an earthquake, kills 63 employees, and leaves 14 missing. The Threshold cannot be closed. Disappearances worldwide rise by 4,700%.
You found their abandoned terminal. The archives are still there.

🐛 Known Issues (Alpha) VHS Tape content is currently a placeholder (TV test pattern only) The computer terminal GUI shows only the hotbar Level 1 dimension not yet available (Exit Door menu shows it as locked) No mobs/entities yet — the Backrooms remain eerily empty As this is my first mod, there may be other issues I haven't discovered yet — please report them!
🔜 Coming in Future Releases 👹 First hostile entity (The Smiler) 🌐 Level 1 dimension (parking garage liminal space) — accessible through the Exit Door 🔊 Ambient sounds (humming neons, distant footsteps, child laughter) 📼 VHS Tape video playback (frame-by-frame animations) 🏗️ More structures (Pool Rooms, Hazmat Locker, Lonely Chair) 🍞 Food sources inside the Backrooms (canned food, vending machines) 🎨 More VHS and Floppy variants with unique content
