Acrit's Fancy Nature
A Vanilla-Friendly Visual Overhaul
Acrit's Fancy Nature is a resource pack designed to bring greater visual variety to Minecraft's natural environments while preserving the game's original aesthetic.
The project's primary goal is to make vegetation and landscapes feel richer, more diverse, and more immersive without straying too far from Minecraft's vanilla style. While maintaining this philosophy is a priority, some features intentionally introduce subtle artistic changes whenever they help improve the overall appearance of the world.
The pack is actively developed and continues to expand with new models, visual improvements, and customization options.
Compatibility
Acrit's Fancy Nature was designed to work as a fully vanilla resource pack.
However, due to lighting changes introduced by Mojang in versions 26.2 and 26.3 Snapshots, using Sodium or another compatible rendering optimization mod is highly recommended, as these resolve several visual lighting issues present in vanilla Minecraft.
Supported Versions
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Minecraft 26.1
- Minecraft 26.2
- Minecraft 26.3 Snapshots
- Future versions whenever possible
Optional Compatibility
The pack includes optional support for ResPackOpts, allowing many visual features to be enabled, disabled, or customized without downloading multiple versions of the pack.
More information about the available options can be found further down this page.
Features
This section showcases the visual improvements currently included in the pack.
The images below reflect features from version 26.1 and above. Visuals in older versions (such as 1.20.1 and 1.21.1) may differ due to technical limitations in those specific releases.
Leaves
Four different leaf model styles have been added to increase the visual diversity of Minecraft's forests.
Each style is available in four density variants:
- Dense (3/6)
- Patchy (2/6)
- Thin (1/6)

ResPackOpts Options
If you use ResPackOpts, you can customize several visual aspects of the pack to better match your personal preferences.
Leaf Model Style
Choose how leaf blocks are rendered throughout the entire pack.
Full
Displays the complete model, including branches and the center cube.
Branchless
Removes the branches while preserving the center cube.
(Additional ResPackOpts settings will be added here as new customization options become available.)
Known Issues
Although every effort is made to provide the best possible experience, a few known issues currently remain.
- Lighting Issues (Minecraft 26.2 & 26.3)
Minecraft introduced lighting changes that cause visual artifacts in these versions.
As a temporary workaround, using Sodium or another compatible renderer is strongly recommended, as it corrects these lighting issues.
- Z-Fighting
Some models may occasionally exhibit minor Z-fighting due to the way Minecraft renders overlapping geometry.
Alternative implementations are continuously being explored to reduce this effect whenever possible.
- Firefly Bush
The Firefly Bush currently lacks its intended firefly particles and visual effects.
This is not a bug but rather an unfinished feature, as I'm still looking for a solution that feels natural and blends well with Minecraft's vanilla style.
- Vegetation Tinting (Minecraft 1.20.1)
Some vegetation colors may appear incorrect when using Minecraft 1.20.1.
For reasons that are still unknown, Sodium automatically corrects this behavior, making it highly recommended when playing on this version.
Feedback
If you encounter any issues not listed here, feel free to report them.
Acrit's Fancy Nature is developed entirely by a single person, and I usually have only one to three hours per day available to work on the project. Even so, I'll continue improving the pack and fixing reported issues whenever possible.
Project Status
Acrit's Fancy Nature is still under active development.
Many features may be refined, expanded, or replaced as the project continues to evolve alongside future Minecraft updates.
One of the project's core goals is to continue improving visual variety while keeping the performance impact as low as possible.
As of Version 0.7, the overall performance impact ranges from Low to Medium, depending on the Minecraft version being used and the player's graphical settings.
