Toggleable Textures

Toggleable Textures is a client-side Fabric mod that lets you switch selected Minecraft block textures between modern and nostalgic historical versions through an in-game menu.

Search for supported blocks, preview texture choices, cycle between available versions, and click Apply to update textures without replacing the entire game with a full resource pack.

Older textures are extracted from your local Minecraft installation, so the mod does not ship Mojang assets.

Installation

Modrinth App

Install Toggleable Textures like any other Fabric mod through the Modrinth App.

Make sure Fabric API is installed. If it is listed as a dependency, the Modrinth App should handle that automatically.

Manual Install

1. Install Fabric Loader for the supported Minecraft version. 26.2

1. Install Fabric API. Curseforge: 0.152.2+26.2
2. Download ToggleableTextures.
3. Place the .jar file in your .minecraft/mods folder.
4. Launch Minecraft with the Fabric profile. (Read Important first.)

Important: Old Texture Support

To use the older texture options, launch Minecraft 1.5.1, 1.12.2, and 1.13.2 once from the vanilla Minecraft Launcher.

This gives Toggleable Textures access to your own local files so it can extract the old textures on your computer.

Using Other Resource Packs

Toggleable Textures can also use textures from downloaded resource packs.

To use this feature:

1. Install Toggleable Textures like a normal Fabric mod.
2. Install Fabric API.
3. Put your resource pack .zip file into your Minecraft resourcepacks folder.
4. Launch Minecraft.
5. Go to Options → Resource Packs.
6. Enable the resource pack you want to use.
7. Open the Toggleable Textures menu with =.
8. Blocks/items affected by the enabled resource pack will show an extra option, such as Pack: <Resource Pack Name>.
9. Choose Current, Old, or Pack, then click Apply.

If you disable a resource pack, its texture options will automatically disappear from the Toggleable Textures menu.

How To Use

1. Open Minecraft with the mod installed.
2. Join a world.
3. Press = to open the Toggleable Textures menu.
4. Search for a block or scroll through the list.
5. Click the texture button to switch between available versions.
6. Click Apply to reload the selected textures.

Note

You may change the keybind of opening the Toggleable Textures (=) in the controls menu.
