🚀 Photophobic Mobs - Update v1.2.0 (Changelog)
Dual-Behavior System
Dual Mob Support (dualBehaviorMobIds): Added a brand-new mob category. Mobs in this list (like Bats or modded insects) are attracted to ambient light sources (torches, lanterns) like moths, but actively panic and flee from destructive heat sources (campfires, fire, lava). Native Flying Mob & Bat Physics: Upgraded AI entity handling from PathfinderMob to Mob. Bats now wake from ceiling roosting, smoothly fly in 3D towards light, flutter around torches, and flee in panic from fire and lava.
Flexible Per-Item Radii & Danger Tagging
Custom Detection Radii (lightItemIds): Each light or danger source can now have its own custom radius (e.g., "minecraft:torch=8.0"). Simplified Danger Tagging (:flee): Mark any block or item with :flee to treat it as a hazard (e.g., "minecraft:campfire=12.0:flee", "minecraft:lava=10.0:flee"). Dual-behavior mobs will only flee from sources tagged with :flee.
High-Density & Modpack Performance (Zero TPS Lag)
Entity ID Tick-Staggering: Block searches are distributed across 20-tick (1-second) intervals using entity IDs, ensuring zero TPS drops even with 50+ mobs in loaded chunks. Unloaded Chunk Protection: Search routines now verify chunk states (hasChunkAt), preventing chunk-loading stalls and world thread locks on heavy modpacks. Dynamic Danger Caching: Added $O(1)$ danger tracking that instantly detects newly placed hazards (like placing lava in front of a mob) without repetitive scanning.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
