Ready to dominate the leaderboard? Want to prove your build crushes the competition? AverageDPS turns every boss fight into your personal scoreboard — tracking your DPS, ranking your performance, and rewarding you for every hit.
AverageDPS gives you real-time combat stats, boss rankings from S to F, and contribution chests that scale with your performance. Climb the ranks, outdamage your friends, and walk away with rewards that prove you're the MVP. No more guessing. No more "maybe I did good." Now you'll know exactly where you stand — and so will your team.
Demonstration
AverageDPS
AverageDPS is a modular combat tracker built for Minecraft boss fights, speedruns, and build testing. It displays real-time overlays showing your damage per second (DPS), total damage, top hit, and combat duration — all centered below the boss bar or configurable to any screen position.
Designed for clarity and fairness, AverageDPS synchronizes combat data across all players. When a boss dies, every participant sees a full summary of everyone's performance directly in chat — no setup required, no commands, just instant feedback.
Whether you're optimizing gear, comparing builds, or pushing for faster kills, this mod gives you the numbers that matter. It activates only during boss encounters, resets cleanly between fights, and stays out of the way when not needed.

Boss Ranking & Rewards System
Starting from version 1.2.0, AverageDPS includes a Boss Ranking System that evaluates your performance in each boss fight and assigns a rank from S (highest) to F (lowest). Each tracked and defeated boss will grant rewards corresponding to its rank in the form of Contribution Chests.
All participants receive at least 1 chest based on the boss rank. Additionally, the top 10 players by damage contribution receive extra chests as a bonus for their outstanding performance:
- 1st place: 6 extra chests
- 2nd place: 5 extra chests
- 3rd place: 4 extra chests
- 4th & 5th place: 3 extra chests each
- 6th to 10th place: 2 extra chests each
- All other participants: 1 chest (base reward)
The number of chests and rewards can be edited in the boss_rewards.json file located at modpack/config/everydayxp/averagedps. Each chest uses its own loot table, fully configurable via datapack.
Contribution Chest Loot Tables
Each rank has its dedicated loot table for datapack customization:

Mod Configuration Options
The mod adds two types of configuration options that allow players to customize their experience directly in-game.

Move HUD Position
This option allows you to drag the mod's HUD and place it anywhere on the screen, adapting it to your preferred layout.

Manage Bosses
This option is enabled only for OP players in Creative Mode. Here you will find a list of all available entities. Select the one you want to add to the boss list that will trigger the DPS meter, and then press the ADD button to complete the edit.

If everything worked correctly, you will see the message "Already added". This means the entity has been successfully included in the DPS tracking system.
