[This shader was COMPLETELY made with AI. This shader was just made to see how capable AI models are. The AI models used in this shader was Claude Opus 4.8, GPT 5.5, and Deepseek v4 Flash. Again, This shader was COMPLETELY made by AI, and I wouldnt reccomend anyone actually play with this. Ill be hosting the source code on github just for you to see the code it generated.]
Veridian A realistic shaderpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 (Fabric + Iris). One pack works on both versions.
Features
- Atmospheric sky with Rayleigh/Mie scattering, sunrise/sunset warmth, and stars
- Soft shadow mapping with PCF penumbra and colored shadows through stained glass/water
- Volumetric raymarched clouds with self-shadowing
- Animated water waves, shore foam, Fresnel reflections, and screen-space reflections (SSR)
- Volumetric light (sun shafts / god rays)
- SSAO, bloom, and tonemap options (ACES / Uchimura / Reinhard)
- Colored lighting on placed light sources (torches, glowstone, etc.)
- Held torch light
- Distant Horizons support (terrain lighting, optional water)
- All settings adjustable in-game via the Iris shader menu
Performance Medium to High impact on modern GPUs. Heaviest settings are cloud steps, SSR steps, volumetric light steps, SSAO samples, and shadow filter samples ā these can be lowered for weaker hardware. Install
- Minecraft 1.20.1 or 1.21.1 with Fabric + Iris (Sodium recommended)
- For distant terrain, install Distant Horizons
- Place the .zip in .minecraft/shaderpacks/ and select it in Options ā Video ā Shader Packs
Limitations
- No labPBR resource-pack support ā smoothness/metalness are constant per material type
- SSR only reflects on-screen geometry (screen-space limitation)
- Atmosphere is an analytic approximation, not a multi-scatter LUT
