NameTag Editor is a lightweight and modern Minecraft plugin that allows you to change player names on your server dynamically, securely, and directly while the game is running.
Main Features:
Randomly Generate Names: With a simple /name command, players can assign themselves a new, randomly generated alias. If they run the command again, they’ll get their old name back.
Targeted renaming: Using the command /setname <player> <name>, administrators or moderators can assign specific names to players.
Quick reset: With /clearname [player], any fake name can be deleted with a single click, restoring the player’s original Minecraft name.
Deep System Integration: The plugin uses Paper’s modern PlayerProfile API. This means that the new name isn’t just displayed in chat, but also appears correctly above the player’s head (nametag), just like in vanilla Minecraft.
Permanent Action Bar Reminder: As soon as a player is playing under a fake name, they receive a small, unobtrusive reminder in the action bar every few seconds, so no one forgets that they’re currently playing incognito.
Safety First (Auto-Reset): When a renamed player leaves the server, their name is automatically reset in the background. This prevents errors and ensures that everything runs smoothly when they log back in.
