PitchShifter is a client-side Minecraft mod that integrates with Simple Voice Chat to provide advanced voice modification capabilities. Whether you want to sound deeper, higher, or apply creative audio effects, PitchShifter has you covered.

Requirements

Usage

  1. Install the mod and Simple Voice Chat
  2. Join a server or world with voice chat enabled
  3. Press P to open the PitchShifter GUI
  4. Toggle "Enabled" in the top-right to activate voice modification
  5. Adjust sliders to modify your voice in real-time
  6. Use "Hear Self" to preview your voice without others hearing it

Creating Presets

  1. Adjust your voice settings to your liking
  2. Switch to the Presets tab
  3. Click Save Preset and name it
  4. Load presets anytime by clicking them in the list
  5. Click the × button to delete presets

Sharing Presets

Preset files are stored in: <instance>/PitchShifter/Presets/

  • Click Open Folder in the Presets tab to access them
  • Share .json files with friends
  • Simply copy preset files to the folder to add new ones

GUI Features

Pages

  • Basic - Pitch, Formant, and common effects (Distortion, Reverb with expandable settings)
  • Advanced - EQ controls and compression
  • Presets - Save, load, and manage voice presets

Controls

  • Expandable Sections - Click the triangle next to "Reverb" to show/hide advanced reverb controls
  • Active Preset Highlight - Currently loaded preset shows with green accent and left border
  • Auto-Deselect - Manually adjusting sliders clears active preset selection
  • Reset All - Quickly return all settings to defaults

  • Algorithm: SMB Phase Vocoder (2048 FFT, 10x oversampling)
  • Latency: ~42ms
  • Processing: Client-side only (no server modifications needed)
  • Config Location: .minecraft/config/pitchshifter.json

Known Issues

  • Some extreme settings may produce audio artifacts
