OptaMod
OptaMod is a utility and optimization mod designed for Minecraft 1.13.2 & 1.14.4. It provides various tweaks to rendering and game logic to help manage performance and adjust the gameplay experience.
🚀 Features
- Entity Render Culling: Stops rendering entities that are outside your specified render distance limit.
- Smart Tick Culling (Singleplayer Only): Halts the ticking and AI of entities that are far away from the player. (Note: Because this alters server logic, this feature only works in Singleplayer).
- Clutter Reduction (Singleplayer Only): Limits excessive item drops in a concentrated area and prevents the ambient spawning of Bats and Squids. (Note: This feature only works in Singleplayer).
- Zoom: Press and hold
Cto zoom in, which automatically scales down your mouse sensitivity for precise camera movement. - Disable Fog: Removes the vanilla rendering fog.
- FPS Display: A simple FPS counter in the top-left corner that automatically hides when the F3 debug screen is active.
⚙️ Configuration
OptaMod comes with an in-game configuration menu.
- 1.13.2: Access the menu via the "O" button on the Main Menu, or press
Oin-game. - 1.14.4: Access the menu via the "O" button tucked in the top-left corner of the Main Menu, or press
Oin-game. - Settings are saved to
config/optamod-settings.properties.
📦 Installation & Multiplayer Note
This mod can be installed on the Client-Side for rendering features (Zoom, Fog, Render Culling, FPS). However, please note that logic-altering features (Tick Culling and Mob Spawning limitations) will ONLY function in Singleplayer worlds, as those mechanics are controlled by the server in multiplayer environments.
⚠️ Important Warnings
🚫 Speedrunning Restriction: OptaMod modifies core vanilla mechanics (mob spawning caps and entity ticking). This mod is strictly prohibited for official Speedrun.com submissions (e.g., RSG/SSG).
⚙️ Gameplay & Automated Farms: The Smart Tick Culling feature may break automated farms that rely on mobs wandering into traps. The Clutter Reduction feature prevents Squids and Bats from spawning entirely. If you need these mechanics for your playthrough, you can disable these specific features via the in-game config menu.
