Overview
Ulterior Motives is a mod that twists the concept of invisibility and identity in Minecraft.
It changes how invisibility works, introduces cursed enchantments, and adds tools for uncovering the unseen.
Changed Invisibility Behavior
- No potion particles when the player is invisible (toggleable)
- Mobs will not detect invisible players at all (toggleable)
Enchantments
🪞 Curse of Masking (Helmet Enchantment)
Rarely found in Ancient Cities. Only works if the helmet has no other enchantments.
This curse erases your identity:
- Your name is censored with obfuscated text (toggleable)
- You disappear from the server player list (TAB)
- Join and leave messages are hidden
- If invisible, your chat name is censored (toggleable)
- Your skin is overridden (adds a cape if you don’t have one)
- Your nameplate above your head is censored
Examples:
- Chat Censorship

- TAB Removal

- Skin Override (Front & Back)

- Label Censorship

🔭 Trailwatching (Spyglass Enchantment)
Found in Pillager Outpost chests.
Reveals invisible entities. While using a spyglass, footprints slowly appear beneath them with a short delay.
Additional Features
