The Preservation BasinsA cave burried deep below the ground that has overtime become covered in Ooze. Some sections of this biome have been there for so long that the ooze has since turned into Amber. Its inhabitants may be able to walk on top of the large lakes, but the player must find other ways around or risk sinking. |
The Sunken SwampVast bodies of water cover the floor of this cave, causing the surrounding flora to grow wild, despite the lack of sunlight. Choose to swim through its lakes to get the rare Nymph Lotus or bounce on the Moatstool dotting the walls to reach higher places. |

    Amber Ant
This small insect resides in the amber sections of the Preservation Basins, trying to stay near its Ant Hill. They will harvest the nearby Amber Beads that grow from Budding Amber to bring back to its hill. Similar to Bees, Amber Ants can be taken back to your base by using Silk Touch on their hill with them inside or with other transportaion methods such as leads or minecarts. They will retreat into their hill when they get scared, like if an Amber Bead were to fall and shatter on the ground.
When the ant harvests an Amber Bead, it will release Ant Pheromones that can be bottled. These pheromones can be used on an Ant Hill. Afterwards, right clicking the same hill with a crop Amber Ants are able to harvest will allow them to start harvesting that item instead. If no item is assigned to a pheromoned hill for a little while, they will reproduce a new ant if there is space. The items in their hill can be collected with a Hopper or by breaking it.

    Boomer and Baby Boomer
The Boomer is a slow-moving mob that lives in the Preservation Basins, along side its Baby Boomers. When the Boomer gets close to a player, it will burst the bubble of ooze on top of its head, spawning a few of its babies.
Baby Boomers will try and attack the player like any other monster. However if it happens to trip, the gunpowder inside of it will cause it to explode. This explosion will knock the player away much further than usual and not break any blocks. Using shears, the gunpowder can be removed preventing the Baby Boomer from attacking and they will just follow the nearest player instead.

    The Ooze
This cube-shaped creature is very similar to the slime, however as the name suggests it's made of ooze instead. Watch out for when it jumps nearby because when it lands, some of its ooze will splatter around it and create Ooze Residue. If a Globule happens to fall onto one, theres a chance it may grow in size. Feed an Ooze to a Frog and it'll drop a Stoplight block.

    Dragonfly
The Dragonfly zips around the Sunken Swamp caves, eager to find something to mess with. When it sees a player, it will try to attack and sometimes also grab the player and fly them somewhere else. Seeing as it cannot go near the water, it's entranced by the Nymph Lotuses growing on Giant Lilypads. Giving them one will tame it and with a saddle you can fly around as well. Keeping a careful eye on your Draongfly's stamina is important to make sure you don't get stuck somewhere dangerous.
After being tamed, you can feed them Amber Shards or Amethyst Shards to change its color. You may even find a rare variant out in the wild. However if you do not wish to tame one, they are afraid of Soul Lanterns and will try to stay away from them.

    Drenched
The Drenched is an eccentric creature made almost entirely of kelp. Its home is the large lakes within the Sunken Swamp. You must watch your feet when swiming through the waters because of how aggressive they can get. They may even try jumping out of the water to get a bite.
