LVP — Lit Vanilla Plus
LVP (Lit Vanilla Plus) is a Minecraft shaderpack for Iris Shaders, built to enhance the vanilla Minecraft visual experience without losing its original atmosphere and visual identity.
LVP focuses on improving the way Minecraft handles lighting, shadows, weather, foliage, atmosphere, water, and camera effects, with configurable options that allow the shader to scale from performance-oriented setups to higher-quality visuals.
Features
- Real-time shadows for terrain, entities, players, and supported block entities
- Configurable shadow system with adjustable resolution, distance, bias, filtering, and shadow strength
- Local lighting effects for visible light sources
- Colored lighting with configurable colors, radius, falloff, saturation, and occlusion
- Cloud shading and cloud shadows that interact with directional lighting
- Dynamic foliage with wind movement and player/entity interaction
- Rain effects with configurable intensity, density, movement, and droplet properties
- Wet surfaces and puddles during rainfall
- Screen-space water reflections (experimental)
- Depth of Field with manual focus and autofocus options
- Motion blur for camera movement and first-person objects
- Camera effects including configurable FOV effects and vignette
- Dimension-specific atmosphere for the Nether and End
- Biome-aware Nether atmosphere for different Nether biomes
- Fluid fog for water, lava, and powder snow
- End Portal rendering
- Beacon beam rendering with configurable color
- Performance and quality profiles for different hardware configurations
Design Philosophy
LVP is built around a simple goal:
Enhance vanilla Minecraft rather than replace it.
The shaderpack aims to preserve Minecraft's recognizable lighting and atmosphere while adding greater depth, environmental interaction, and visual detail.
Every major system is configurable where practical, allowing players to choose between performance, balance, and visual quality.
Compatibility
LVP is developed for Minecraft 26.2 using Iris Shaders.
Performance and compatibility may vary depending on GPU hardware, shader settings, resource packs, mods, and other rendering modifications.
Current Status
LVP V1.2
LVP is actively developed. Some advanced rendering systems remain experimental and may be refined or replaced in future versions.
Water reflections are currently experimental.
LVP does not currently advertise unfinished development systems such as fishing-line shadows or other experimental effects as completed features.
