ICCNEX AntiCheat ICCNEX AntiCheat is a lightweight, configurable Minecraft server anti-cheat designed to provide server owners with an accessible solution for detecting common forms of unfair gameplay while maintaining a strong focus on stability, performance, and false-positive protection. The plugin monitors player behaviour across multiple areas of gameplay, including movement and combat. It can detect suspicious behaviour associated with speed, flight, NoFall, abnormal step movement, reach, autoclicking, KillAura-style behaviour, and critical-hit anomalies. Detection is based on multiple movement and combat signals rather than relying on a single event, helping reduce accidental violations caused by normal gameplay. Features Movement Detection ICCNEX AntiCheat includes several movement-oriented checks designed to identify abnormal player movement:
- Speed detection
- Fly detection
- NoFall detection
- Step detection
- Movement anomaly detection
- Ground and air-state analysis
- Special movement exemptions
- Teleport protection
- Join protection The movement checks are intentionally conservative and account for situations such as swimming, climbing, gliding, vehicles, Creative mode, and other legitimate movement mechanics. Combat Detection The combat system monitors player attacks and movement during combat to identify suspicious behaviour. Supported checks include:
- Reach detection
- AutoClicker detection
- KillAura-style detection
- Criticals detection
- Attack timing analysis
- Player rotation and target-direction analysis
- Ping-based combat tolerance Rather than immediately punishing a player after a single unusual event, violations are accumulated through a Violation Level (VL) system. Violation Level System Every check maintains its own violation level for each player. For example: [ICAC] Player failed Speed VL=3.00
Repeated violations increase the player's VL. When the configured punishment threshold is reached, the configured punishment system can take action. Violation levels also decay over time when suspicious behaviour stops, allowing occasional legitimate anomalies to naturally disappear instead of permanently affecting a player's record. False-Positive Protection ICCNEX AntiCheat includes several protections intended to reduce false positives. The plugin considers factors such as:
- Player ping
- Server TPS
- Recent teleportation
- Join grace period
- Swimming
- Climbing
- Gliding
- Vehicles
- Creative mode
- Player movement state
- Attack timing When server performance becomes poor or a player's latency becomes extremely high, certain automatic detections can be relaxed or temporarily suspended. This helps prevent normal lag-related behaviour from being treated as cheating. Lag Compensation Server performance and network latency can significantly affect anti-cheat detection. ICCNEX AntiCheat therefore uses configurable TPS and ping thresholds. Servers can configure when checks should become more tolerant and when automatic movement punishment should temporarily stop. Example configuration: lag-compensation: enabled: true no-punish-below-tps: 15.0 relaxed-below-tps: 18.0 no-punish-above-ping: 500 relaxed-ping: 200
This allows server owners to run the plugin without having to manually disable the anti-cheat whenever the server experiences temporary lag. Local SQLite Database ICCNEX AntiCheat does not require a separate MySQL or MariaDB server. The plugin automatically creates a local SQLite database: plugins/ICCNEXAntiCheat/db/iccnex.db
The database stores information such as:
- Player violations
- Violation levels
- Punishments
- Punishment reasons
- Staff information
- Detection history
- Client detection records The database is automatically initialized when the plugin starts. Automatic Configuration The plugin is designed so that a new server owner can install it without having to manually create every configuration file. On first startup, ICCNEX AntiCheat automatically creates its configuration and database structure. The default configuration provides conservative settings intended to work as a starting point for a typical Paper server. Server owners can then customize the checks and thresholds according to their server's gameplay style. Punishment System When a player reaches the configured violation threshold, ICCNEX AntiCheat can automatically record a punishment and remove the player from the server. Manual punishment commands are also available. Example: /icac ban <player> [reason]
Players can be unbanned with: /icac unban <player>
Administration Commands The plugin provides an administration command: /icac reload /icac status /icac vl <player> <check> /icac ban <player> [reason] /icac unban <player> /icac history <player> [limit] /icac debug
These commands allow server administrators to reload configuration, inspect plugin status, view violation levels, manage punishments, review punishment history, and inspect debugging information. Permissions The plugin provides separate permissions for administration, alerts, and bypass functionality: icac.admin icac.alerts icac.bypass
Administrators can therefore control which staff members can manage the anti-cheat and which staff members receive detection alerts. ProtocolLib Support ICCNEX AntiCheat is designed to work alongside ProtocolLib for packet-level functionality where required. Protocol-level functionality can provide additional information that is not available through ordinary Bukkit events. The plugin architecture keeps these features separate from the core database and violation system so that the rest of the anti-cheat can continue operating when packet-level functionality is unavailable. Designed for Server Performance The plugin is designed around lightweight event processing and local SQLite storage rather than requiring an external database service. Detection data is stored efficiently, while violation decay and player state tracking are handled in memory during normal operation. The goal is to provide server owners with a practical anti-cheat foundation that can be configured for different Minecraft server environments. Getting Started Install the plugin JAR into your server's: plugins/
Start the server and ICCNEX AntiCheat will create its configuration and database automatically. After installation, administrators can use: /icac status
to check the plugin and database status. For detection alerts, staff members should have: icac.alerts
For administration: icac.admin
ICCNEX AntiCheat is intended to provide a configurable detection and punishment framework while allowing server owners to tune thresholds and checks for their specific server environment.
