Manuals

Manuals is a simple mod that adds a Vanilla-friendly progression layer to Minecraft. Before you can use certain blocks or trade with certain mobs, you must first read their manuals that can be found throughout the world.

How it works Skills are the gated capabilities (e.g. Enchanting, Brewing, Anvils). Each skill needs 3 ranks to unlock. Manuals are the items you read. Each manual grants one rank toward the skills it covers. They look like enchanted books with a glint. Read a manual by right-clicking it. Once you've read enough distinct manuals to meet the rank requirement, the skill unlocks and you can use its blocks/entities normally. Reading a manual for the first time also grants a small XP reward (configurable).
