✨ Rephrase

Rephrase is a client-side Fabric mod that lets you customize how items look — names, colors, fonts, effects, tags, and particles — without changing the real vanilla item name.

That means resource packs and CIT (Custom Item Textures) keep working perfectly because the base name remains untouched. Players see your custom display layer instead.

🖥️ Client only — Install it on your game client.
🌐 Works on servers — The server does not need to have the mod installed.
👀 Local only — Only you see your custom overlays (other players see vanilla unless they also use Rephrase).

🎮 Features

📝 Custom Presentation

• Custom display name, subtitle, rarity, and lore
• Per-field styles: Bold, Italic, Shadow, Obfuscated
• Custom colors and Minecraft fonts (Default, Uniform, Alt, Illager)

🌈 Effects

• Gradients (Gold, Fire, Aurora, Ocean, and more)
• Animations (Pulse, Rainbow, Wave, Shimmer)
• Borders & glow presets

🏷️ Ambient Tags

• Little icons under the title (glyphs + colors)
• Great for rarity labels, factions, roles, etc.

✨ Particles

• Spawn while held, while equipped, on burst, or both
• Types: flame, end rod, enchant, portal, crit, soul, cherry, sculk
• Density + left/right hand settings

💾 Profiles & Packs

• Switch presentation profiles instantly
• Import / export .rephrase packs to easily share looks

⌨️ Easy to Use

• Hover over an item in your inventory and press R (remappable in Controls)
• Or use chat commands like /rephrase name Epic Blade
• Full visual editor — no NBT hacking required

🕹️ How to Use

1. Put Rephrase + Fabric API in your mods folder.
2. Open your inventory.
3. Hover over an item and press R.
4. Edit the look and click Save.
   • Item = applies only to this specific item stack.
   • Match = applies to all items with the exact same identity.

💡 On multiplayer, Match mode is usually the most reliable option.

Handy Commands

⚠️ Notes

• Rephrase is a presentation overlay — it does not rewrite vanilla item names into the world/save file in a way that breaks CIT.
• Particle and name overlays are strictly local (your client).
• Configuration files live in config/rephrase/.
