As the name suggests, this mod adds redstone components.
Why use POWERED?
You can use this mod to automate or make cool machines that you normally couldn't make in Vanilla Minecraft, without making it the entire focus of the game - unlike other awesome technology mods, like Create. Many of the features are inspired by these mods, and if you want to install both you can adjust the Config.
Config
The mod is designed to fit right into Vanilla aesthetics and systems - but if you want to adjust it, there is a config to do just that. There are options to disable certain blocks or features, or tweak their values. I plan to add more options in the future, too.
Components
All recipes can be found in-game. All of these can be disabled in the Config.
PLACER: Similar to a Dispenser, but places any blocks put into it when activated. Regular items are ignored for placing.
HARVESTER: Similar to the Placer, but harvests blocks in front of it when activated. All item & XP drops are stored in the block. XP stored similarly to a furnace.
TURNTABLE: Rotates the block it's facing when activated. Can be clicked to swap between clockwise and counterclockwise rotation.
TROUGH: Can be filled with food in 5x1 inventory to automate feeding and breeding animals. Nearby hungry animals come to eat. Functional with Comparator.
REDSTONE LANTERN: Essentially an upside-down Redstone Torch, not able to be placed on walls.
EXPERIENCE LANTERN: Collects nearby experience. Experience is dropped when right-clicked. You can also fill or drain experience bottles with it.
- Has Config option to control maximum stored experience points.
ANALOG LAMP: Similar to Redstone Lamp, but with adjustable brightness and color. Brightness is based on how much power is entering the block, and you can right-click it to change the color setting.
ACCUMULATOR: When powered from either face, slowly charges to whatever the highest input power is. When unpowered, slowly loses power. Emits this power from the sides.
RESONATOR: A solution for wireless Redstone. When powered, it searches for another resonator facing it and powers it to the same amount that it is. Can be blocked by sound stoppers like Wool.
- Has Config option to control maximum connection reach.
SPIKE TRAP: A powerable spike trap that is "claimed" by whoever places it. Entities killed by it are counted to be killed by that player. This allows experience points or special loot to be dropped without presence of the player.
COPPER PIPES: Oxidizable pipe blocks that take and push one item at a time. If there is nothing to put the items in, or no solid block in the way, the items are spit out of the pipe. The more weathered the block is, the slower items move.
ITEM FILTER: Similar to the Hopper, but items can be filtered by right-clicking them into the "filter slot". You can turn it into a blacklist by powering it. If there is no inventory below it, it drops the item onto the ground. Has an in-depth filter system, see Filters.
Inspired by Create
DETECTOR: Similar to the Observer, but it emits a constant pulse when it detects the item in its "filter slot". Has an in-depth filter system, see Filters. Inspired by the Smart Observer.
CALIBRATED RAIL: Directional Powered Rail that has controllable power levels (higher=faster). Inspired by the Controller Rail.
ANALOG LEVER: A Lever with controllable power. Right-click to raise, shift right-click to lower. Inspired by the one in Create.
LATCH: A logic gate that emits a Redstone signal that can be toggled on or off by other signals. Can be right-clicked to invert the output. Inspired by the Powered Latch.
TOGGLE LATCH: A logic gate that emits a Redstone signal that can be toggled on or off. Can be right-clicked to invert the output. Inspired by the Toggle Latch.
EXTENDER: A logic gate that can be powered at different amounts from the side to extend power that goes through it (higher=longer extension). Can be right-clicked to invert the output.
DELAYER: A logic gate that can be powered at different amounts from the side to delay pulses that go through it (higher=longer delay). Can be right-clicked to invert the output.
REDSTONE LINK: Remotely connects Redstone power through 2 frequency slots that can hold items. Can be right-clicked to swap between sending and receiving. Inspired by the one in Create.
- Off by default in config.
ITEM VAULT: Expandable storage block that cannot be opened. Items can be taken in and out using other Redstone components. Ex: Hoppers, Copper Pipes, Item Filters, etc. Inspired by the one in Create.
Filters
While there are no "Filter" items in the game, there is a useful filter system for both Item Filters and Detectors.
Detector
Detectors can detect Blocks, Items, Inventories, and Entities. Items placed into the Detector, "Filter Items", are checked for in the space in front of the detector. The Item, Block, and dropped Entity versions of these items are checked for. Any items placed into an inventory (Ex: Chest or Item Vault) in front are detected. Filter Items corresponding with entities like Boats, Minecarts, or Mob Heads check for those entities too. Hoppers, Pipes, or any other item movers can take or put in new Filter Items.
Item Filter
While less expansive than the Detector, it is just as, or even more useful. The Item Filter picks up any item matching its Filter Item which can be clicked in and out of it, just like the Detector. If there is an inventory below the Item Filter, it places it into it - like a hopper. If there is no inventory below, it simply drops it onto the floor. When powered by Redstone, the Item Filter turns into a blacklist - only letting items that are not said item in.
Key
Multiple Items have unique abilities when placed into the Filter Slot.
- Shulkers/Bundles: One of the most important features, any items inside the inventory of the Shulker or Bundle are included in the filter. Ex: Item Filter with a Shulker holding a Dandelion and an Iron Pickaxe can pick up both of those items. If the Bundle or Shulker are empty, they pick up any shulker or bundle just like usual.
- Name Tag: Also a very important feature. Without a name, a name tag just detects name tags - but when they do have a name, they detect anything with the same name as the item. This applies to virtually everything. A Player named "Bob"? Yes. An Arrow named "Keycard"? Yes. A Stone Block named.. "Stone Block"? Absolutely. A very useful feature for detecting impossible to gather items or for having unique passcodes. Also great if you don't want to use a super rare item just to filter it into your system.
- Spyglass: Detects any item/entity/block. If it's not air, it sees it.
- Mob Heads (Detector Exclusive): Any entity with a matching mob head in front is detected. (Ex: Detector with Creeper Head sees Creepers)
- Matching Entities/Blocks (Detector Exclusive): Items that can place Blocks or Entities like Boats, Buckets, or Spawn Eggs, can detect those entities or blocks. This also works with projectiles.
