ControlVanish

A vanish plugin with only a purpose. Free and open source, and have some premium-like features.

Features:

  • Two types of modes. NPC and standard.
  • Standard is full invisibility. Fake leave and join messages cover you. Listed as SILENT in the command.
  • NPC puts a copy of you in your place. It uses your skin, your skin layers, your armor, and your rank prefix.
  • The copy keeps your slot in the tab list. The player count does not move. No leave message is sent because you are still visible.
  • The copy either follows you or stays where you vanished. You pick in the config.
  • Ghost mode. Sneak at a wall to phase through it. Hold sneak in the open to come back.
  • Protections while vanished. No block breaking or placing. No damage taken or dealt. No interactions. No item or XP pickup. No drops. No buckets. No mob targeting. No collisions.
  • Hidden from the tab list and the player count for anyone without permission.
  • Vanish state saves across restarts. SQLite, written off the main thread.
  • Proxy sync for Velocity and BungeeCord. The same jar runs on the proxy too.
  • Optional Simple Voice Chat support. Vanished players speak through the NPC.
  • Settings GUI with live toggles. No restart needed.
  • Folia supported.
  • Anonymous bStats stats. Turn them off in plugins/bStats/config.yml.

Requirements:

  • PacketEvents 2.14.0 or newer. Required.
  • Paper 1.21.1 through 26.3 and newer.
  • Java 21 or newer.

PacketEvents is not bundled into the jar on purpose. When a new Minecraft version drops you can update PacketEvents yourself and keep going the same day.

Works fine with ViaVersion, ViaBackwards, and Geyser.

Commands:

  • /vanish [SILENT|NPC] [player] Toggle vanish. Aliases /v and /cv.
  • /vanishlist List who is vanished. Alias /vl.
  • /controlvanish reload Reload the config.
  • /controlvanish gui Open the settings panel.

Permissions:

  • controlvanish.use Use /vanish on yourself. Default op.
  • controlvanish.admin Manage other players, reload, and open the settings panel. Default op.
  • controlvanish.see See vanished players and the real tab list. Default op.

Optional:

  • LuckPerms adds your rank prefix to the NPC nameplate and tab entry.
  • Simple Voice Chat makes the NPC the source of the voice.
