🌍 Vanilla Prime: Core Edition
The full survival and world-gen overhaul. This pack takes the performance and visual tweaks from the base Client edition and adds massive custom world generation, completely revamped dimensions, and a scaling difficulty system.
What is Vanilla Prime Core?
If you want a Vanilla+ experience that actually feels fresh, this is it. We kept the core Minecraft vibe but scaled everything up. It’s built for singleplayer, LAN, and dedicated servers. You get massive mountain ranges, completely new Nether and End dimensions, and mobs that actually put up a fight the further you explore.
It also comes pre-packaged with the entire visual and optimization suite from Vanilla Prime Client, so shaders, LODs, and performance fixes are already set up out of the box.
World Generation
- Terralith & Tectonic: Expect massive cliffs, deep underground rivers, and over 100 new biomes. It still uses purely vanilla blocks, so it doesn't bloat your game or feel out of place.
- Incendium: The Nether is actually dangerous now. We’re talking 8+ new biomes, huge fiery castles, and much harder fortress runs.
- Nullscape: Makes exploring the outer End islands way more interesting by adding massive void mountains and zero-gravity areas.
- Structures: We threw in Towns and Towers, Structory, and Dungeons and Taverns. This means you'll actually find cool stuff while exploring, like multi-floor dungeons and unique villages tailored to the biomes they spawn in.
Difficulty & Mobs
- RpgDifficulty & Eldritch Mobs: Mobs get harder the further you travel from spawn. You'll also run into rare elite mobs with random buffs (like fire trails or shields), but they drop much better loot.
- Nyf's Spiders: Spiders realistically crawl on walls and ceilings now. It makes caves genuinely terrifying.
- HerdsPanic: Animals will actually panic and scatter as a group if you attack one of them.
- Visual Tweaks: Added a bunch of visual variants for wolves, skeletons, and other mobs just to mix things up. Soul fire also deals more damage and leaves lingering particles on burning targets.
Quality of Life Tweaks
- Comforts: Grab a sleeping bag to skip the night while exploring without overriding your actual bed spawn.
- RightClickHarvest: Because breaking and replanting massive farms manually gets annoying. Just right-click to harvest and replant crops instantly.
- Fast Minecarts: Minecarts are actually fast now, making them a genuinely good transportation option again.
- Easy Anvils & Better Than Mending: Uncaps the "Too Expensive!" limit on anvils and keeps your renamed items intact. Plus, Mending automatically targets your most damaged gear so you don't have to keep swapping stuff into your off-hand.
- A few extra building tweaks like diagonal fences, connectable chains, and universal bone meal for things like cacti and vines.
Performance & Visuals
This pack includes everything from the base Client edition:
- The Optimization Stack: Full performance boost using Sodium, Lithium, ModernFix, Entity Culling, and C2ME.
- Distant Horizons + Iris: Play with crazy render distances (128+ chunks) combined with Complementary Unbound shaders.
- Animations & Audio: Fresh Animations for better mob movement, plus Sound Physics Remastered for actual cave echoes and ambient background sounds.
- Resource Packs: Small tweaks like Fancy Crops, Enchant Icons, and Invisible Item Frames.
How to Install & Host
Playing solo or joining a server:
Just download the vpcore.v[VERSION].mrpack file, import it into your launcher (Prism, Modrinth App, etc.), and hit play.
Running a dedicated server:
- Set up a Fabric server matching the Minecraft version (loader
0.19.5). - Drop the mods folder in. All the client-side stuff (shaders, HUDs, menus) is tagged in the background and will automatically be ignored by the server, so you don't have to manually delete anything.
- Make sure
level-type=minecraft:normalis in yourserver.propertiesso Terralith and Tectonic generate properly.
Requirements
- RAM: Allocate at least 4GB of RAM, but 6GB is the sweet spot.
- Graphics: If you plan on using the included Shaders and Distant Horizons, you'll want a dedicated GPU (GTX 1060 / RX 580 or better).
