Ancient Blade
Inspired by AltarSMP.
Base item: Netherite Sword
Command: /ancientblade [player]
Permission: customweapons.ancientblade (default: op)
Resource Pack: Install the AltarSMP Texture Pack - this plugin set is built around it and looks/sounds as intended with it installed.
Cross-Plugin Detection (/weapons)
Every AltarSMP weapon plugin registers /weapons [player], which hands you one weapon from every other AltarSMP plugin currently installed and enabled - a live check each run, nothing to configure.

config.yml

cooldown-ability-2: 10
recipe:
enabled: true
shape:
- " S "
- "IDI"
- " S "
ingredients:
S: SCULK
I: DIAMOND
D: ECHO_SHARD
Cooldowns are in seconds and reload from config on server start. Set recipe.enabled: false to disable crafting and hand the item out with /ancientblade only.
Abilities & Triggers
| Trigger | Ability | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Passive | Deep Connection | Standing on Sculk, Sculk Catalyst or Sculk Vein grants Speed I for 5 seconds. |
| Right-Click | Echolocation | Sends a real sculk pulse expanding outward from you up to 24 blocks. Any player the expanding pulse actually reaches gets revealed and marked, rather than everyone in range instantly. |
| Shift+Right-Click | Presence | Applies Darkness for 5s to your target (within 8 blocks) and surrounds them with Sculk Soul particles. |
| Passive (kill-based) | Growing Power | Permanent buffs unlock as you rack up kills with the blade: 2 kills = Speed I, 4 kills = Strength II, 5 kills = Strength III. |
Notes
- The weapon is bound to the player who receives it via a persistent NBT tag, so lore/name changes won't break ability detection.
- The activating player is never hit by their own ability's damage, knockback, or negative effects, even for area attacks, explosions and travelling projectiles/waves.
