NovaJump
NovaJump turns any block into a launchpad. Step into water and you get shot into the sky. Walk over pressure plates and you're on a trampoline. Put a stone platform at the end of a corridor and it throws everyone due south, no matter which way they're facing.
Every block gets its own launch power, sound and particles. Fall damage right after a launch is cancelled, so nobody breaks their legs. There's a global per-player cooldown with a timer right in the action bar, plus a separate cooldown for each block. Set the global one to 0 and plates turn into an endless trampoline.
Horizontal push works two ways: along the player's view direction, or at a fixed angle from the config. The second one is great for parkour maps where the launch has to go one way only.
What you can tune
Each trigger has its own vertical power, horizontal push, sound (name, volume, pitch), particle type and count, cooldown, and an on/off switch. You also pick the worlds where all of this works.
Sounds and particles play for the whole area, so other players see and hear every launch. The novajump.use.<trigger> permission locks a specific pad if it should be admin-only. PlaceholderAPI is picked up automatically and gives you %novajump_launches% and %novajump_cooldown%. Messages come in English and Russian, MiniMessage formatting with hex colors included.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/novajump reload |
Reloads the config |
/novajump test [trigger] |
Launches you to test things, cooldowns untouched |
/novajump setforce water_boost 2.5 0.5 |
Changes the force and writes it to config.yml |
Commands need novajump.admin, which ops have by default. The pads themselves are open to everyone; negate novajump.use.water_boost to lock a specific one. The old /jumpreload still works if you got used to it.
Setup
Drop the jar into plugins/, restart, open plugins/NovaJump/config.yml:
triggers:
water_boost:
trigger_types:
- WATER
boost_power: 1.8 # vertical speed
horizontal_force: 0.5 # extra push
horizontal_mode: look # look = player's facing, fixed = horizontal_yaw angle
cooldown_ticks: 20 # 20 ticks = 1 second
sound: ENTITY_FIREWORK_ROCKET_LAUNCH
particle: EXPLOSION
particle_count: 20
Then run /novajump reload. Every option in the config ships with a comment.
Compatibility
Works on Paper, Spigot and Purpur 1.18 through 1.21.x, needs Java 17 on the server. Tested on 1.20.4 and 1.21.1. No hard dependencies, PlaceholderAPI is optional. Folia isn't supported.
Particle names that Minecraft renamed over the years (explosions, smoke, dust and friends) resolve automatically, so one config works on old and new servers alike.
Good to know
The default cooldown_seconds: 3 also blocks plate trampolines, set it to 0 if you want bouncing. Launch counters behind %novajump_launches% live in stats.yml. If you type a huge boost_power, the plugin caps it at 5.0 and logs a warning instead of launching anyone into orbit.
