INTRODUCTION: My name is Ultro, and I am planning on adding a variety of mods to enhance the Cobblemon experience.

SUMMARY: This is my first mod based on adding the PMD personality test that will give you another option as starters instead of the usual mainline game starters.

It adds a button in the starter screen (default key in Cobblemon is "M") that introduces you a personality quiz based on the HEXACO personality quiz. I won't include a link here that explains the HEXACO quiz. Please research more into it on your own if you are interested.

There are 18 questions with three questions in each category:

  • Honesty-Humlity
  • Emotionality
  • Extraversion
  • Agreeableness
  • Conscientiousness
  • Openness to Experience

This provides you with a new, fun way to get starters that you wouldn't normally start with that are based/work well with your individual personality.

STARTERS: The current starters for each type (the default config) are as follows:

Bug: Blipbug and Grubbin

Dark: Galarian Zigzagoon and Impidimp

Electric: Shinx and Mareep

Fairy: Tinkatink and Ralts

Fighting: Mankey and Machop

Flying: Rookidee and Starly

Ghost: Gastly and Duskull

Ground: Trapinch and Sandile

Ice: Swinub and Vanillite

Normal: Lillipup and Teddiursa

Poison: Zubat and Venipede

Psychic: Mime Jr. and Gothita

Rock: Geodude and Nacli

Steel: Klink and Aron

Grass: Seedot and Smoliv

Water: Horsea and Spheal

Fire: Magby and Rolycoly

Dragon: Applin and Goomy

You can (currently) change how many starters, the aspects, and the species of the little guys. They are always level 10 (for now). Once you complete the quiz, you will get your main type and one out of your second most compatible type. For example, if you get Geodude, Nacli, and Teddiursa, that means Rock is your most compatible and Normal is your second most compatible.

ITEMS: You can create the Personality Scroll. A way to do the Quiz if you have already chosen a starter. The recipe is a book completely surrounded by any kind of shard (amethyst, echo, prismarine). This recipe will change to any kind of gem once Cobblemon 1.8 drops.

DEPENDENCIES: This requires Cobblemon. Currently made for Cobblemon 1.7.3. There are zero plans to convert for neoforge.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. Configuration of the starters is possible. Just run it once to generate the config and change the pokemon for any of the types. This might be important if you don't want someone getting the base bug types (which aren't in Cobblemon as 1.7.3). If you are on a server, it takes from the host/server's config

  2. If you encounter errors, just shoot me a DM through the Cobblemon Discord with your latest log. I will NOT look/help if you don't include a log/are willing to answer my questions.

FUTURE PLANS: There are two things I think this mod will benefit from:

  1. Configurable Questions. It could be interesting/funny for someone's server.
  2. More configuration of the starter mons. Currently only the little guys and their aspects are changeable.
