Environmental Security Agency (ESA)

Northern Territory, Australia — 1955

A standard ESA watchtower in the Australian savannas.

The ESA has sent you to a remote observation tower in the savannas of the Northern Territory following a series of unusual reports concerning the region's wildlife.

Your mission is to explore the surrounding area, observe its wildlife, and photograph any unusual creatures you encounter. Clear photographs are essential: the better your evidence, the easier it will be for the ESA to determine what is happening in the region.

Explore the savannas, caves, and other environments surrounding the observation tower. Use cameras to document the creatures you find, and craft firearms to defend yourself against the more dangerous ones.

Craft weapons to defend yourself against hostile wildlife, gather resources, mine underground, and improve your equipment as you travel farther from the tower. You can also use aircraft to explore the region from above.

But be careful after sunset. The darkness is pitch black, and visibility can quickly become a serious problem. Use the flashlight provided with you and stay aware of your surroundings.

The dry grass of the Northern Territory brings another danger: fire can spread quickly across the savanna. Lightning and other sources of fire can turn a safe area into a dangerous one, so be prepared to deal with it.

Mark important locations on your map, document the wildlife you encounter, and make use of everything the ESA has provided.

The wilderness is vast, the nights are dark, and not everything you encounter will be familiar.

  • Press Z to activate your flashlight.
  • Press M to open your map.

Features

  • Tools don't have durability. The ESA has provided you with gold equipment.
  • The darkness is pitch black.
  • Fire can spread quickly.
  • There are no zombies, skeletons, creepers or creatures of this kind.
    • Your task is to observe and defend yourself against the local wildlife.
  • There is no Nether or End dimension.

Getting Started

  • Investigate the watchtower, observe its contents and make the necessary repairs.
  • Take pictures with your camera, and when the film gets full, develop it using a water bottle.
    • Take your developed films to the Lightroom, and use paper and black dye to print.
  • Gather resources in the forest and caves to craft better gear.
  • Build walls around your tower to make it secure.
  • Craft a Scrap Workbench to make your first firearms.
