Dark Client

Dark Client is a customizable, client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft Java. It puts useful gameplay information, interface controls, and creative tools in one in-game menu. Set up a clean survival HUD, keep PvP information close at hand, or change the look of your menus to suit your style.

Open Dark Client with the button on the title or pause screen, or press Right Shift. Mod Menu integration is optional.

Fully Customizable HUD

Move and resize HUD elements in the visual editor. Drag each box to place it and drag its corner to change its size. The editor can also move and resize the vanilla hotbar, chat, and scoreboard. Disabled modules stay out of the layout editor.

Available HUD Modules

  • FPS, coordinates, ping, CPS, and server IP
  • Compass, speed, biome, light level, and dimension
  • Keystrokes, health, hunger, and watermark
  • Potion effects with icons and timers that flash red in the final 15 seconds
  • Held-item durability and armor status with item icons

HUD Organization

The card-based Dark Client menu lets you enable or disable each module, open its options, and set its own keybind. Customize HUD text, backgrounds, outlines, opacity, and themes. Choose solid colors or two-color gradients with a direction you control.

F3 Menu Customizer

Make the debug screen your own. Show or hide individual F3 entries, adjust their colors and background opacity, and move and resize their boxes. The separate F3 layout editor can resize all debug text together. An optional slide animation brings the overlay in from the sides.

Custom Menu Backgrounds

Choose from five still images for the main menu: Sunset Jungle, Moonlit Castle, Movie Bee, Movie Vista, and Alpine Valley. The selected image also replaces the rotating panorama behind other menus. A Dark Client title logo completes the look.

Make It Yours

  • Pick button fill, button outline, menu text, inventory tint, HUD, F3, and crosshair colors.
  • Draw a custom crosshair and choose its in-game size, or restore the original.
  • Draw your own white font glyphs on a 16×16, 32×32, or 64×64 canvas. Unfinished characters use Minecraft's original font, and you can switch back at any time.
  • Assign Dark Client keys separately from Minecraft's Controls screen.

Simple Gameplay Features

  • Free Look lets you look around in third person without turning your player. The third-person camera still collides with blocks.
  • Toggle Sprint and Toggle Sneak use Minecraft's built-in toggle controls, with optional Dark Client keys.
  • Low Particles switches Minecraft to its Minimal particle setting.
  • Discord and Modrinth shortcuts are available on the title screen.

Installation

  1. Install Minecraft Java 26.2 with Fabric Loader and Java 25.
  2. Add Fabric API for 26.2 and the Dark Client .jar to your mods folder.
  3. Launch your Fabric profile and open the Dark Client menu from the title or pause screen, or press Right Shift.

Dark Client runs on the client; servers do not need to install it. It is an independent project made by _Hexi and is not affiliated with Mojang, or Microsoft.
