Spiritual Magic
Spiritual Magic is a fantasy progression mod focused on spiritual races, energy growth, spellcasting, divine power, altar challenges, and magical companions.
When you enter the world, you can awaken a spiritual race, each one with its own identity, energy behavior, progression style, and magical potential. As you gain experience, your race level grows, unlocking new abilities, stronger energy reserves, spell unlocks, and advanced spiritual powers.

Spiritual Races
Discover and progress through different spiritual races such as:
- Human
- Sorcerer
- Wild Sorcerer
- Demon
- Elf

- Divine Bearer
Each race has its own color, energy style, strengths, and restrictions. Some races use spiritual energy, divine races use divine energy, and elves have infinite energy but weaker spells that scale with race level.
Divine Bearer is not a normal starting race. It is obtained through divine altar progression.
Race Progression
Your race level increases as you gain experience. This progression does not consume your vanilla Minecraft XP, so you can still use your levels for enchanting and normal gameplay.
Leveling up your race unlocks systems such as:
- Spiritual energy growth
- Spell unlocks
- Magic shield
- Basic spiritual projection
- Spiritual aura
- Advanced spiritual projection
Race XP requirements increase gradually as your race level rises.
Spiritual Energy System
Most races use an energy system that powers abilities and spells. Energy regenerates over time and scales with your race level.
Some races start with higher base energy, while divine races have a much larger divine energy pool. Elves have infinite energy, but their spell strength starts lower and improves as they level up.
Spell System
The mod includes a spell catalog, spell equipment menu, and spell wheel. Players can unlock spells over time and equip them into spell slots.

Spells include:
- Projectiles
- Area attacks
- Utility abilities
- Summons
- Dashes
- Healing zones
- Elemental prisons

- Ultimate-style attacks
Examples include Fireball, Flame Torrent, Water Prison, Earth Wall, Vampiric Ray, Pentagram, Blood Moon, Galaxy Impact, Stellar Beam, and more.
Divine Altars and Divine Bearers
Spiritual Magic adds special altar blocks connected to divine progression.
The Challenge Altar allows players to begin the Challenge of the Gods. When interacted with, it opens a custom confirmation screen. If the player accepts the challenge, they receive Bad Omen II, making nearby Trial Spawners more dangerous during the temple challenge.
The Link Altar is meant to be placed at the end of divine structures or temples. After completing the challenge, interacting with it links the player to a random divine element and grants the Divine Bearer race.
Divine Bearers are connected to a specific god or goddess, such as:
- Bearer of Fire
- Bearer of Water
- Bearer of Nature
- Bearer of Lightning
- Bearer of Earth
- Bearer of the Moon
This connection appears in the race menu and affects the player’s divine identity.
Divine Paths
Gods and Divine Bearers are connected to specific divine elements.
Current divine paths include:
- Fire
- Water
- Plant
- Lightning
- Earth
- Moon
God races have stronger divine scaling, while Divine Bearers represent mortals who earned a divine connection through altar challenges.
Spiritual Projection
Spiritual projection is a visual combat ability that appears on the player’s hands. While active, it increases attack and defense.
Advanced projection unlocks later and provides stronger buffs with a different visual style.
Spiritual Aura
Spiritual aura is an area pressure ability unlocked at higher race levels. It damages and weakens nearby enemies, with its power scaling as your race level increases.
Aura can only remain active for a limited time and consumes energy while used.
Tameable Slimes
Small slimes can be tamed using caramelized apples. Once tamed, they follow their owner, avoid harming them, gain improved survivability, and behave like magical pets.
After exploring caves, a tamed slime can awaken an elemental affinity. Elemental slimes gain visual changes and useful traits based on their affinity.
Custom Items
The mod adds new items such as:
- Caramel
- Caramelized Apple
These are currently used in the slime taming system.
Custom UI
Spiritual Magic includes custom interfaces for several systems:
- Race menu
- Spiritual energy HUD
- Spell catalog
- Spell equipment menu
- Spell wheel
- Elemental affinity selection
The UI is designed around a fantasy/medieval style to match the mod’s progression theme.
Advancements
Spiritual Magic includes custom advancements for important milestones, such as:
- Leveling your race for the first time
- Claiming your first spell
- Gaining elemental affinity
- Unlocking spiritual projection
- Taming your first slime
- Creating a divine link
Status
This is an early beta version. Some systems are still being expanded, balanced, and polished. More spells, divine content, structures, bosses, models, animations, and progression features are planned for future updates.
