Advancement XP
Advancement XP is a lightweight Fabric mod that rewards players with experience points when they complete advancements.
The mod automatically works with vanilla advancements, datapacks, and advancements added by other mods.
Preview

XP Rewards
By default, advancements without their own built-in XP reward grant:
- Task: 5 XP
- Goal: 15 XP
- Challenge: 75 XP
These values can be changed in the config file.
Existing XP Rewards
If an advancement already has an experience reward defined by Minecraft or another mod, Advancement XP will not add extra XP on top of it.
This prevents duplicate rewards for advancements that already grant experience.
Visible and Silent Advancements
By default, Advancement XP only rewards advancements that display a toast notification to the player.
For example, some root advancements, such as the Story root unlocked by obtaining a Crafting Table, complete silently without showing a toast.
You can enable rewards for silent advancements with:
/advancementxp silent on
You can disable them again with:
/advancementxp silent off
The default setting is:
off
This setting is saved automatically and persists after restarting the game.
Advancements without a display are always ignored.
Sound
Completing a rewarded advancement plays a subtle level-up sound to make the reward feel more satisfying.
Compatibility
Advancement XP supports:
- Vanilla advancements
- Datapack advancements
- Advancements added by other mods
- Root advancements
- Hidden advancements
Advancements that already have their own XP reward are left untouched.
Configuration
The configuration file is located at:
config/advancementxp.json
Default values:
{
"task_xp": 5,
"goal_xp": 15,
"challenge_xp": 75,
"reward_silent_advancements": false
}
Values below 0 are automatically treated as 0.
Resetting Advancements
Advancement XP does not give retroactive XP for advancements completed before the mod was installed.
If you want to complete advancements again, Minecraft already provides the command:
/advancement revoke @s everything
After revoking them, completing the advancements again will grant XP normally.
