Farlands Remastered
Farlands Reborn is a Paper server plugin that brings Far Lands-inspired terrain generation back to modern Minecraft.
The plugin works as a custom world generator for the normal Overworld. The world generates normally until players reach the classic Far Lands distance around ±12,550,821 blocks. Beyond that point, newly generated chunks begin to form broken terrain inspired by old Minecraft Beta Far Lands: huge vertical walls, holes, overhangs, repeated noise patterns, and chaotic terrain shapes.
This plugin does not add commands, items, mobs, dimensions, or gameplay systems. Its only purpose is to change terrain generation beyond the Far Lands border.
Features
- Far Lands-style terrain starting at ±12,550,821
- Works in the normal Overworld
- No commands
- No extra dimensions
- No NMS
- Terrain can generate up to Y=319
- Configurable generation settings
Installation for server
- Download the plugin
.jarfile. - Put the
.jarfile into your server'spluginsfolder. - Open
bukkit.ymlin the main server folder. - Add this generator setting:
worlds:
world:
generator: FarLandsPaper
- Restart the server.
Important
Already generated chunks will not change.
For the best result, create a new world or delete the already generated world folders before starting the server.
For the default world name, delete these folders:
world
world_nether
world_the_end
If your world name is different, open server.properties and check this line:
level-name=world
Then use that world name in bukkit.yml.
Example:
level-name=Survival
Then your bukkit.yml should look like this:
worlds:
Survival:
generator: FarLandsPaper
Testing
After installation, teleport to the Far Lands area:
/tp <player> 12550900 160 0
Far Lands-style terrain starts after approximately:
X/Z ±12,550,821
