Custom Skies replaces the vanilla sky with 22 animated skies you can switch between whenever you want. It's completely client-side, so you can use it on any server.

The skies

Clear Blue, Sunset Dream, Purple Haze, Aurora, Blood Moon, Pastel, Golden Hour, Stormy, Void, Earth & Moon, Cherry Blossom, Ocean Dusk, Neon Nights, Arctic, Ember, Cotton Candy, Deep Midnight, Emerald Dream, Twilight and Nebula. There's also a Custom sky you can colour yourself, and Vanilla if you want the normal sky back.

Each one has its own colours for day, sunset and night, its own stars and particles, and it fades in smoothly when you switch.

Stuff happening in the sky

Depending on which sky you pick, you'll see things like aurora, the Milky Way, nebulas, constellations, shooting stars, comets, ringed planets, a giant moon, Earth from orbit, a black hole, planes, birds, hot air balloons, blimps, lanterns, rockets and the occasional sky whale or UFO. There are also some holiday surprises around Halloween and Christmas.

If something gets on your nerves you can turn it off. There are 25 separate sky parts you can toggle in the menu.

Previewing skies

Press K to hide your HUD and flick through every sky. Left and right change the sky, up and down change the time of day, and you can drag to look around. Press Enter to keep the one you like.

Time changer

Pick what time it is for you with a slider, or jump straight to sunrise, noon, sunset or midnight. It only changes it on your screen, not for the server, and it still works if you turn the rest of the mod off.

Kill effects

10 kill effects including Ascension, Black Hole, Meteor Strike, Thunder God, Frozen and Firework Show. You can change the colour, sound and intensity and preview them from the menu.

Menu

Press O to open the menu. Everything is in there: skies, sky parts, weather, time, kill effects, keybinds and an on/off switch for the whole mod. It also opens from Mod Menu.

• Turning the mod on and off has a keybind too, it's just not set by default

• Only needed on your client, not on servers

Shader packs can replace the sky with their own, so if your sky doesn't change, try turning shaders off. Works fine with Sodium.

🔭 Sky Preview

Press K to hide the HUD and flip through every sky full-screen. Use ← → to switch skies, ↑ ↓ to change the time of day, and drag to look around. Enter keeps the sky you're on.

🕒 Time Changer

Set the time you see with a slider, or pick Sunrise, Noon, Sunset or Midnight in one click. It only changes your view, never the server's, and it keeps working even when the rest of the mod is off.

⚔️ Kill Effects

Ten kill effects to choose from, including Ascension, Black Hole, Meteor Strike, Thunder God, Frozen and Firework Show, with colours, sounds, intensity, and a Preview button to try them out.

🎛️ The menu

Press O for a modern settings menu with categories, search, one-click sky tiles and a master on/off switch. It also works from Mod Menu's Configure button.
