Overview

Item Organizer is a client-side Fabric mod that replaces the creative inventory with an organized builder workspace. It features custom grid layouts, color sorting, and hotbar palette management. In Survival mode, it serves as a visual item catalog and reference guide.

Features

Color Gradients & Palettes 🎨

  • Gradients: Generate color transitions between selected blocks.
  • Hotbar & Infinite Palettes: Save 9-slot building sets or large multi-row collections. Load them to your hotbar with one click.
  • Direct World Placement: Place palette directly in the world to preview block combinations.
  • Color & Slot Filters: Filter palettes by item similarity, slot position, or row presence.

Organization & Custom Grids

  • Custom Layouts: Group and arrange blocks into adjustable grids with profile support (Default, project, or themed).
  • Blocker List: Hide items you don't need with double right-click.
  • By Version Catalog: Browse blocks by the Minecraft update they were introduced in.

Builder Workflow

  • Undo / Redo: Multi-level Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y history across all grid edits, moves, and deletions.
  • Flexible Interaction: Use drag-and-drop or single-click carry-and-place.
  • Customizable UI: Adjust background blur, transparency, colors, slot scale, text scale, and keybindings.

Essential Controls

Shift + Left Click Send item directly to hotbar (or clear slot if clicking hotbar)
1 - 9 Assign hovered item to that hotbar slot
A Quick-append hovered item into the Ordered grid
Right Click + Arrows Select and move items inside the grid
Right Click + DEL Remove selected item from grid
Double Right Click Toggle item into / out of the Blocked list
ESC Close dialogs, unbind key in config, or exit screen

All shortcuts can be remapped in Config or in vanilla Options > Controls > Key Binds.

📥 Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader.
  2. Put Fabric API in your .minecraft/mods folder.
  3. Drop Item Organizer .jar into .minecraft/mods.
  4. Press O in-game to open the workspace.

Client-side only — works on multiplayer servers without server installation.
