Minecraft has many branches, some of which are withered and unmaintained, or just not well connected to the others. Drasil aims to bring life back to this great tree by using various mods to update and integrate all of its branches.
Here's some of the highlights:
- Separate continents for limited feeling worlds without hard borders
- Rebalanced transportation with tweaked minecarts and a return to elytra gliding, not flight (depending on configuration)
- Overhauled gear and enchanting with more tool tiers, abilities, and things that go boom
- Expanded food and farming system without the constant need to stuff your face
- Lots of storage, decorations, and more things to discover
Removals
While Drasil does integrate all the branches, there are a few features that are decidedly not fun, or worth keeping. Such as:
-
Experience - xp is certainly a progression gate to enchanting, but flying back to your enderman farm for the 20th time gets old—really old.
- Enchanting now requires your tool's repair material and the enchant you want to use in a nearby bookshelf.
- Tools have returned to being an expendable resource with no more mending or unbreaking (don't worry, durability is natively buffed)
-
Hunger - Running and jumping around is fun, stopping every 30 seconds to shove a potato down your throat is not.
- Food is still used to heal. Different foods heal different amounts over different times, or provide interesting effects.
- Alternatively, you can completely omit food and set up campfires across your base for passive—but quite slow—regeneration.
Optional Recommended Setup
Since there are certain gamerules and datapacks Drasil would rather not force for player freedom, here are the recommended setup steps for the intended experience:
Recommended Setup
Disable Spawn Phantoms gamerule or run /gamerule spawn_phantoms falseEnable Path of Least Resistance & VanillaTweaks datapacks
Run commands:
/elytra-toggle rocket false "minecraft:overworld"
/elytra-toggle rocket false "minecraft:the_nether"
/elytra-toggle rocket false "minecraft:the_end"
Thank you
And of course, thank you to all the mod developers who made Drasil possible!
This is the sequel pack to Blacktree Survival which, while still used for the Blacktree server, is built to stand on its own as well.
