Give your players something to look forward to. Tovek Crates adds crates that need keys. When a player opens one, a roulette spins through the rewards and stops on the winner. Part of the free Tovek plugins by Toprak Eker.

Features

  • Roulette opening animation in an inventory GUI, with sounds and a highlighted win slot.
  • Crate blocks: place a crate item, or point at any container-style block and link it with /crate set. Crate locations are saved.
  • Left-click a crate to preview its rewards, right-click with a key to open it.
  • Real keys (tripwire hooks with saved item data). They stack and can be traded. A crate can cost more than one key to open with open-cost.
  • Random rewards with weights. Each reward can have a rarity label, lore, custom model data, item amount and console commands (use %player%).
  • Optional message to the whole server for rewards you mark with broadcast: true.
  • Six crate tiers for labelling: Common, Rare, Legendary, Cosmetic, Pet, Furniture. The default config has one example crate for each.
  • Main menu GUI that lists the crates (/crate).
  • Crate blocks cannot be broken. Admins can sneak-break one to remove it.
  • Opening stats per player, saved to players.yml.
  • Optional PlaceholderAPI expansion: %crates_total_opened%, %crates_opened_<crate>%, %crates_keys_<crate>%.

Requirements

  • Paper or Purpur 1.20.1 to 26.3
  • Java 21 or newer (Paper 26.x needs Java 25)
  • Optional: PlaceholderAPI for the placeholders above

Installation

  1. Put the jar in plugins.
  2. Start the server to create plugins/TovekCrates/config.yml.
  3. Edit the crates and rewards, then run /crate reload.
  4. Use /crate give or /crate set to place crates and /crate key to give out keys.

Configuration

Each crate in config.yml has a display name, tier, block material, key name and lore, open-cost, and a rewards section. The chance of a reward is set by weight. Reward commands run from the console.
