PeterWolf's Replay Audio Recorder
Record Minecraft audio together with your ReplayMod or Flashback recordings.
The mod captures the game's audio during normal gameplay, keeps it synchronized with the replay timeline, handles cuts and speed changes, and can automatically add the processed audio to exported MP4 videos.
Features
- Automatic audio recording with ReplayMod and Flashback
- Replay-synchronized audio playback
- Supports pause, seek and replay speed changes
- Handles trimmed and edited replay exports
- Automatic audio processing after video export
- Automatic MP4 muxing with FFmpeg
- Ogg Opus recording at 48 kHz stereo
- Configurable audio quality up to 256 kbps
- Sound category filtering
- Optional FLAC recording
- Crash recovery
- Manual recording commands
- HUD recording and playback status
Important
Audio must be recorded during the original gameplay session.
Existing ReplayMod or Flashback recordings do not contain the original Minecraft audio and cannot be retroactively restored.
The recorded track represents the original player's audio perspective.
Moving the replay camera does not recalculate:
- sound direction
- distance attenuation
- stereo positioning
- environmental audio
This mod records the original game mix, not reconstructed camera-relative spatial audio.
Privacy
The mod does not record:
- microphone input
- system audio
- browser audio
- other applications
Voice chat recording is disabled by default.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2
- Fabric Loader 0.19.3+
- Fabric API
- Java 25+
- ReplayMod 26.2-2.6.27 supported
- Flashback 0.41.1 supported
- FFmpeg recommended for MP4 export
ReplayMod and Flashback are optional.
The mod can run with either one, both, or neither installed.
Recording
Start a ReplayMod or Flashback recording normally.
Replay Audio Recorder automatically starts recording the Minecraft audio mix.
Recordings are stored as:
.minecraft/replay_audio_recordings/
Default format:
- Ogg
- Opus
- 48 kHz
- stereo
- VBR
- approximately 160 kbps
Replay playback
When a matching replay is opened, the mod automatically finds its recorded audio track and synchronizes it with the replay timeline.
Supported timeline actions include:
- pause
- resume
- seeking
- speed changes
Video export
After ReplayMod or Flashback exports a video, the mod can automatically:
- Detect the exported replay range.
- Trim the recorded audio.
- Apply replay speed changes.
- Encode the final audio track.
- Add it to the exported MP4.
The video stream is copied without re-encoding.
The final file is saved as:
*_with_audio.mp4
The original silent MP4 can also be preserved.
