Scout's Reward
Explorer maps can lead you to abandoned camps, but the loot alone doesn't always make the trip feel worth it. Scout's Reward rewards the journey itself, without touching any loot table.
How it works
- Arrive with a map, get rewarded. Walk into an abandoned camp carrying an unused Abandoned Camp Map and you earn XP levels, with a sound, particles and a title on screen. Any unused camp map counts, whichever camp you end up in.
- Keep your maps. The map is not consumed. It is marked as Explored (a lore line is added) and stops giving rewards, so you can keep it as a souvenir. The lore is written in the language of the player who used it.
- Open the camp's containers for a bonus. The first time each camp chest or barrel is opened, you get a small XP bonus.
- Vanilla loot stays vanilla. Nothing is added to or removed from the camps' loot tables.
- No cashing in at the same camp. Leaving and re-entering a camp won't reward you again: a new arrival only counts if it is farther than a minimum distance (128 blocks by default, configurable) from the last camp you arrived at.
Rewards by difficulty
| Difficulty | Arrival (levels) | Container bonus (XP points) |
|---|---|---|
| Peaceful / Easy | 3 | 12 |
| Normal | 5 | 20 |
| Hard | 8 | 32 |
