Put shulker boxes inside other shulker boxes. That's it - one restriction lifted, nothing else changed.
Minecraft normally refuses to let a shulker box go into another shulker box (or into a bundle). This lightweight Fabric mod removes exactly that rule, so you can nest your storage as deep as you like and haul entire double-chests worth of loot in a single stack.
Features
- Nest shulker boxes inside other shulker boxes in the inventory screen - drag, drop, or shift-click.
- Hopper & dropper friendly - automation can pipe shulker boxes into a shulker box too.
- Bundles included - as a side effect, shulker boxes also fit inside bundles.
- Toggle on/off - via a config file or the in-game command /shulkersinshulkers on|off (no restart needed).
- Tiny and clean - two small mixins, no new items, blocks, or recipes. Turn it off and behavior is 100% vanilla again.
How to use Craft two shulker boxes, place one, open it, and drop the other one inside. Done.
To turn nesting off, set "enabled": false in config/shulkersinshulkers.json, or run /shulkersinshulkers off in-game (requires op level 2 on servers; always available in singleplayer). Check the current state with /shulkersinshulkers status.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.11 (Java Edition)
- Fabric Loader 0.16+
- Fabric API
Notes
- Safe to add or remove at any time - it doesn't change world data, only whether the "no nesting" rule applies.
- Works on servers; install it on clients too so nested shulkers display correctly in the GUI.
- Nesting shulker boxes multiplies how much you can carry, which some players consider a balance change - that's the whole point, but the toggle is there if you want it off.
