WorkbenchStrip adds crafting recipes that do what an axe does with a right-click: strip bark, scrape off oxidation, and remove wax. You do it in a crafting table, with items in your inventory, and you don't need an axe. Nothing is used up and no durability is lost.
It is a plain data pack. It needs no mod and no commands, and it works on vanilla Minecraft: Java Edition.
What it does
- Strip bark: every log, wood, stem, hyphae and bamboo block becomes its stripped version. Example: 2 oak logs → 2 stripped oak logs.
- Scrape oxidation: copper goes back one stage per craft. Example: 1 oxidized copper → 1 weathered copper.
- Remove wax: waxed copper becomes unwaxed copper. Example: 1 waxed exposed cut copper slab → 1 exposed cut copper slab.
The copper recipes cover blocks, cut copper, stairs, slabs, chiseled, grates, bulbs, doors and trapdoors.
Why use it
Stripping or cleaning blocks normally means holding an axe and placing every block first. With this pack you can convert whole stacks in one crafting-table action, right from your inventory.
Good to know before downloading
- Log, wood, stem, hyphae, bamboo block and waxed copper block recipes use "2 of the same item → 2" so they don't clash with vanilla recipes (planks, copper ingots). A single block still crafts into planks as usual.
- Recipes unlock in the recipe book when you pick up the source item.
- It only converts items you carry. It does not affect blocks already placed in the world.
- This pack adds recipes for everyone, so on a shared server, tell the other players before installing it. Back up your world first, as with any data pack.
