ColorfulVanillaLights

A shader focused on real colored block lighting for Iris.

Light sources finally emit their true colors and tint the surroundings:

  • Redstone torches & redstone ore → strong pure red
  • Soul torches / soul lanterns → cyan / blue
  • Lanterns, glowstone, campfires, lava → warm orange
  • Froglights → magenta, green, yellow
  • and many more light blocks

Custom Settings Menu

When you open the shader options you get a clean main menu:

ColorfulVanillaLights

  • Light Colors & Intensity
  • Brightness
  • Redstone (adjust the red)
  • Soul Torches
  • Froglights
  • Sky (sun / moon position)
  • Floodfill Lighting

Profiles

Light blocks look different depending on the selected profile:

Profile Effect
Normal Balanced, classic red glow
Strong Stronger colors, more glow, cleaner red
Ultra Maximum intensity, very pure red
Soft Softer, milder colors

Sun & Moon

Under Sky → sunPathRotation you can change the path of the sun and moon.
By default they are tilted (–30° to –50° depending on the profile).

Installation

  1. Install Iris + Sodium
  2. Place the ZIP into your shaderpacks folder
  3. Select it in Video Settings → Shader Packs

Notes

  • Recommended: recent Iris versions
  • Works with most resource packs
  • Additional options are available under “More”
