Water World - The Atoll (Fabric)
Water World - The Atoll is an immersive Minecraft mod (Fabric) that breathes life into ocean biomes by introducing procedurally generated Atoll structures, complete with custom villager AI behaviors, dynamic fishing, and unique blocks to ease water building.
š Key Features:
š Atmospheric Atolls (Procedural Structures)
Atolls are floating scrap and wood settlements spawning across ocean biomes. Each Atoll is unique thanks to procedural generation rules:
Irregular Walls: Scrap metal outer walls feature natural, wavy contours with segment-based heights (e.g., segments of 10-15 blocks wide of uniform height: some higher, some lower, some very high).
Stilt Huts: From 4 to 7 huts are attached directly flush to the irregular outer wall, with doors opening onto a circular wooden walkway running just above the water level (Y=62).
Lookout Watchtowers: Distributed watchtowers featuring varying heights, logs, ladders, and roofs facing towards the center of the lagoon. North Gate: A wide water gateway capped by an oak log arch with hanging chains and lanterns, allowing boats to row out to the open ocean.
š£ Advanced Villager AI & Boat Mechanics
Fishermen on Atolls are active mariners, not just passive spectators:
Lagoon Rowing: Fisherman villagers actively seek out empty boats, board them, and row around the lagoon.
Ocean Exploration: Boats inside the Atoll have a chance to locate the North gate, navigate out, and explore the open sea. Once outside, they wander in a wider radius and have a chance to return through the gate. Dynamic Fishing: Villagers periodically pause, equip a fishing rod, cast it (playing splash sounds and bubble particles), and physically reel in a fish item (cod, salmon, pufferfish, or tropical fish) flying out of the water!
Persistent Mariner Crew: Fisherman villagers riding boats have their standard village routines (like sleeping in beds or meeting) fully bypassed, keeping them permanently in their boats to patrol the waters. Auto-Boat Recovery: If a villager ends up swimming in the water without a boat, they have a rapid chance (~1 second response time) to auto-spawn a new oak boat directly underneath themselves and board it. Wall Observers: 4 to 6 villagers stand on top of the scrap walls, looking out at the horizon.
āŗ Floating Trade Post
Spawns close to each Atoll (on the East side) acting as an external merchant platform:
A stilt-supported platform featuring a red/white wool canopy and a hanging lantern. Contains a Cartography Table and a loot chest filled with oceanic maps and exploration treasures. Populated by a dedicated Cartographer villager with locked profession status.
š± Atoll Seed Block
A utility block to help you colonize the oceans:
Features textures themed around compacted kelp and mud. Can be placed directly on water surfaces (acts as a PlaceOnWaterBlockItem). Serves as a solid foundation block for building on top of ocean water.
