Wild Flora

This mod adds a variety of decorative plants that enrich Minecraft’s landscapes while staying faithful to the game’s style, making biomes feel more wild. Rather than giving every plant a complex crafting purpose, the mod focuses more on exploration, and being decorative.

Plants included

Areca and Fan Palms

Areca palms appear in jungles and have tall, slender stems with broad tropical fronds.

Some generate with yellowing leaves or a peeled section of the stem, adding variation that makes them look less uniform and more natural.

Fan palms also appear throughout jungle biomes. Their fronds come in several noticeably different forms, giving each plant a slightly unique shape.

Colorful Lichens

Four new varieties of lichen appear throughout old growth taiga biomes, each with its own color:

Silver lichen Black lichen Brown lichen Rust lichen

These lichens are especially useful as decorative blocks for texturing builds!

Bracken Ferns

Bracken ferns grow across forested biomes, forming dense patches of undergrowth. Walking through them slows movement slightly, although it can be configurable via config file!

Sedge

Sedges grow along rivers, and some of them generate with flowers as you can see in the images.

Lavender

Bushy lavender patches can be found scattered throughout plains biomes, and is a large bushy flower unlike anything in vanilla.

Large Kelp

Large kelp can be found in large groves in shallower lukewarm oceans!

Monstera

Monsteras can be found in jungle type biomes and are a climbing plant that need a block (or another monstera) behind them in order to grow upwards. They are harvested with shears or silk touch and can be right-clicked with shears to stop their growth. There is an extremely rare chance (0.0005%) that it will grow into a variegated variant, which can then be harvested as its own plant and will only grow variegated leaves (although much slower as it lacks chlorophyll!) This is for all the plant collectors out there. There is a great randomness in leaves here, allowing each plant to look unique.

Epiphytes (Bromeliad, Fiddle Leaf and Basket Fern)

Epiphyte type plants that grows on tree trunks as well as the ground, is naturally found in jungles. Can be placed on all sides of the blocks.

Welwitschia

Welwitschias are a unique looking desert plant, the only species in its genus.

Trumpet Plant

Trumpet plants grow on unique jungle vines. They will collect water when it rains (even underneath leaves) like a cauldron, and can be filled up/emptied to more easily get water. Additionally, frogs love to use these plants as houses, and will like to sleep there during the day.

Moonbloom

Moonblooms are a fantasy flower that appears uncommonly in dark forests. It's an unassuming plant until night time, when it blooms with an intensity that depends on the moon cycle.

Mimosa Pudica

This jungle plant responds to stimuli, closing up when entities walk over it applying a slowness effect. This can be a quite useful mechanic to get away from hostile mobs or players, as running through them won't slow you but will slow down whatever is chasing you.

Collector's Flower

These flowers are large, and each one is unique! Yes you heard that right. You will likely never find two that are completely identical, making it the dream plant for collectors! They will have unique petal and leaf shapes as well as unique color combinations! Not all of them are pretty so it's up to you to find ones that suit your needs. Once you find a variation you like, you can bone meal it to make more of that specific one, and share it with your friends.
