Timesync
Timesync is a Paper plugin that synchronizes the in-game time of Minecraft with real-world time.
The plugin fully controls the time of the specified world and allows you to choose where to take the time zone from: a fixed UTC shift, a city and country, or geographic coordinates.
✨ Opportunities
-
🕐 Synchronization of Minecraft time with real time.
-
🌍 Three time zone detection modes:
- UTC — a fixed time zone offset, for example
UTC+3. - City — time zone detection based on the city and country.
- Coordinates — automatic time zone detection based on coordinates.
- UTC — a fixed time zone offset, for example
-
🌙 The sun and moon are in a position corresponding to real time.
-
📅 Full Minecraft in-game time is supported, including the in-game day number.
-
🔒 Vanilla automatic time progression is disabled so that Minecraft does not conflict with Timesync.
-
⚙️ The time update interval is configurable in the settings.
-
🌐 Open-Meteo is used to determine the time zone in City and Coordinates modes.
-
🧩 Timesync works independently of Atmosync and other plugins.
📦 Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Paper or a compatible core
- Java 21
⚙️ Configuration
UTC
Use a fixed time zone offset:
location:
mode: "utc"
utc-offset: 3
For example, 3 corresponds to UTC+3', and -5corresponds toUTC-5'.
City
Specify the city and country:
location:
mode: "city"
city: "Moscow"
country: "Russia"
Timesync will determine the coordinates of the city and its time zone automatically.
Coordinates
You can specify the coordinates directly:
location:
mode: "coordinates"
coordinates:
latitude: 55.75204
longitude: 37.61781
Timesync will automatically determine the time zone for these coordinates.
🌎 World selection
Timesync will synchronize the specified world:
world:
name: "world"
⏱️ Update interval
The refresh rate is set in seconds.:
time:
update-interval: 1
In this example, Timesync updates the game time every second.
🛏️ Sleep
Timesync does not rewind game time after sleep.
Real time remains the source of truth. If it's really nighttime, Minecraft shouldn't suddenly jump to morning after sleeping.
🌐 Open-Meteo
In City and Coordinates modes, Timesync uses Open-Meteo to determine the time zone.
For these modes to work, the server needs access to the corresponding API.
If the API is temporarily unavailable, Timesync will not be able to determine the time zone for the corresponding mode.
🧠 How it works
Timesync retrieves the current real time:

At the same time, the vanilla DO_DAYLIGHT_CYCLE is disabled, so the game time does not move independently of Timesync.
